That is the ultimate revenge on your rivals....have them induct you to the hall of fame!
Stockton must just be trying to make Isaiah feel better about not making the Dream Team and I can't wait to hear what Barkley has to say about Sloan, should be good.
I think this pick was pure genius. If you think about it, Jerry Sloan NEVER sugar coats what he has to say. He's very blunt and to the point just like Charles Barkley with his commentary. Let's also remember that Charles Barkley is one of the few TV commentators in Sports who consistently says good things about the Utah Jazz so it's nice to have somebody outside of the Utah Jazz family present Sloan this honor.
This is John Stockton, he was better than me. But I somehow managed to win a championship, but then I destroyed a franchise so it kind of evens out...
Not if you ask his old opponents.
Stockton should have picked Rubio. Rubio will be a Knick.
won a championship also.
This is perfect makes good logic...
John Stockton has no friends, that is why. :-)
I am surprised that Stockton picked Thomas.
Stockton = modest, classy, honest...
Thomas = boastful, low-class, fake...
Do you know something we don't? I am sure that Stockton has plenty of friends. He was the best point guard to play the game in my opinion. He just did not boast and enjoyed his privacy. Can anyone blame him???
One more assist from Stockton. He just elevated Isiahs game
Thomas should not be in the Hall in the first place; what a loser!!!
Thanks for the comment... I needed a great laugh today and that takes the cake!!!! Kuddos to you!!! JP in Idaho
Stockton wasn't liked by his opponents because he was physical. If I remember right, he was voted the #1 dirtiest player in the NBA (even when Dennis Rodman was in the league).
Interesting that he picked Isiah. Isiah rocketed completely off my basketball radar with Magic when they french kissed on national TV. Stockton, as someone else said here just needed a go to guy at the end of the game besides Karl. Just one guy who could finish under pressure.
Stockton is the best point guard to ever play in my humble opinion!
Hopfully he won't give Isiah a kiss at the cerimony?
I give props to Isiah for accepting John's invitation. Thomas was a great player himself -- one of the finest passers ever seen, a great clutch shooter, an ultra-competitive point guard, an adequate defender. Stockton was the greatest passer of all time, the greatest ball stealer of all time, one of the top two or three defensive point guards of all time, the best pick-setter of all time, the best player under 6'4" of all time, and except for Larry Bird, the greatest Caucasian player of all time, and one of the top two or three shooting point guards of all time. At one point only Magic Johnson shot a higher percentage of all long-time NBA players (minimum 500 games). Wilt Chamberlain once said if he were starting an NBA team, his No. 1 pick would be Stockton (I'm sure he meant No. 2 -- with Wilt No. 1). John Wooden, the greatest basketball coach of all time, once said Stockton was the only player in the NBA whom he would play to watch. How I miss Stockton!
From die hard,
Nice to read from someone who knows the facts.
Bottom line Stockton is the greatest point guard of all time, and just as you say. If the best coach of all time, and one of the 10 best players of all time say it, and I say it, then it is absolutly the facts, Jack.........
RE: Rich
You said it all; passes, shooting, defense, steals, and, especially, the picks. And nineteen years at that level. Nobody else ever did all that.
