"Let us commit and ask our leaders to renew our policies and institutions so that they will strengthen our families by rebuilding a workplace that is safe, healthy, fair and provides living wages for all Utahns." Well, of course I agree, but such can only happen if Democrats hang together and hang tough for effective health care reform, because loss of health care coverage with unemployment is the greatest threat to survival for working people. John's party, the Republicans, only wants to humiliate the president through the blunting of reform, working people be damned. We'll know this month if John's noble goal can be achieved.

For decades, Labor Day brings a range of emotions, when we watch Jerry and his kid's on TV, the longest running show ever, on "The Love Network", we all have a gratitude for the day and Jerry, now 84 years young, and what it represents as a celebration, even though heartache still happens seeing long lines of workers who want to work but are caught in a struggling economy and can't give. Yes, it's the end of summer. But it's not the end of MDA. That's what I see special about today as well.

Perhaps you'll get your wish | 11:15 a.m. Sept. 7, 2009
Good morning @ Lew Jeppson | 12:43 a.m. - This Labor Day the statement the White House released was when Obama was headed for a union picnic in Ohio, perhaps as a political payback to them, Obama voiced confidence that working Americans will help our nation emerge from this crisis with more taxes. Obama chose a Labor Day union picnic in Cincinnati as the backdrop to announce his selection of Ron Bloom as senior counselor for manufacturing policy. Bloom planned to travel there with the president for an afternoon announcement at the AFL-CIO event. Car Czar Ron Bloom. Mr. Bloom is replacing Steve Rattner, a New York Investment Banker who is now under scrutiny for a kickback scam. Bloom, a Harvard Business-trained banker turned United Steelworkers official, will now take over as the official Car Czar for the Obama administration. He is 53 and is considered one of Time's top 100 candidates (for whatever that is worth these days). Bloom has no auto industry experience, but he has tons of union experience. With criminal ties. Plus criminal paybacks and kickbacks to. Nice guy hey?. Let's all start singing "We Are The World" now to.

I took the hint and listened to Obama's AFL-CIO picnic remarks, and I can tell you THAT I'M FIRED UP AND READY TO GO! We're going to get this done regardless of how Utah's backward congressional delegation feels, and it's time for John Florez to appreciate he no longer works for Senator Hatch and to get behind the president.
If businesses | 10:50 p.m. Sept. 7, 2009
had not shipped jobs to other countries, workers would still have have money to buy their products, and we would not be in as big a mess today as we are.
