I think this is a fantastic concept brought to life. I have been trying to teach my 2 year old about dinosaurs and she showed so much interest. There just hasn't been much out there for the preschool set which actually taught real Earth Science. We found this and logged onto the PBS website to view the videos and play the games. She instantly recognized the baby T-Rex and Triceratops(her favorite dino). My daughter just loves this program and so do I. The addition of the train just made it so much more exciting and easy to learn as it rides through the Triassic, Jurassic & Cretaceous periods in correct order.
I say Bravo to this show!
My twin 6-year olds are CRAZY about this new show "Dinosaur Train". They're so excited that I can barely hear the TV because they're jumping around and "pant-hooting" around the living room like chimpanzees! They watch the episodes over and over, and repeat lines from the show all day long. Good job Dr. Scott and congratulations PBS!
My 2.5 year old daughter LOVES this show. She re-enacts scenes, I LOVE IT, event the mothers call (not so delightful for the ears!! The other day we were at Barnes and noble and she found a dinosaur book, opened it up and identified 2 dinosaurs...I was kinda dumb struck for a few moments then bent down to see if she was right... AND SHE WAS!! WONDERFUL SHOW!! Cant wait for the toys to come out so I can buy her some...
I absolutely love this program. I watch it often. I especially love the wonderful smile on little T Rex.
It is always upbeat and a ray of sunshine. (I also love old trains)
I like the portrayal of the simple positive family life with trips and visits.
It is also the perfect show for children, I think.
My daughter LOVES this show! She is 2.5 almost 3 and we have all the episodes on DVR. She has them all memorized, and can tell you which one she wants to watch. It's amazing to hear a little kid be able to say all those big dinosaur names.
