Hmmm....

Too bad I don't value Orrin's opinion. Vote them both out!!!

Whatever

I totally agree with you Hmmm... Orrin's opinion means nothing to me. In fact if Orrin were truly conservative he wouldn't be trying to justify reelecting Bennett. Both of the Senators from Utah need to go into retirement and stay there.

Anonymous

I definitely would rather have Bennett remain there with his experience than Shurtleff. Shurtleff doesn't have the experience and he doesn't even manage politics well in the state of Utah... let alone in Washington DC. We need wisdom at this time.

Cherilyn Eagar

No offense, but who the heck is Cherilyn Eagar? If an unknown can whallop Bob Bennett in a poll, that ought to give Orrin Hatch a clue on how very out of touch he is. It is unfathomable that Utah voters would return Bennett to Senate. Can't someone, some church or some bank that owns stock in him, send him on a mission somewhere?

If it comes to a primary, I don't care who Cherilyn Eagar is. I'm voting for anybody but Bennett, TARP and government run health care.

WhereRtheResults

Where and what are the results of having Hatch and Bennett in Washington?

They only vote on behalf of special interests who pay them bonuses and not the american people who pay their wages.

Case and Point.

Are they willing to remove their own healthcare insurance and healthcare benefits until the healthcare problem is resolved?

No.

We need Action towards results and change instead of an attitude of "No, Lets leave it alone"

If straw polls decided elections

then Ron Paul would be president of the United States.

Eagar is a joke. Shurtleff's corrupt. Bennett it is.

SPK

Twiddle de Dee and Twiddle de Dum!

Joe Young

I voted for him the first time. He said it would be his first and last. Well you can see how far that got. As for Orrin, I think it's time to get out. Get some new blood in there and stop being little babies. It's time to think of our country and not trying to get re-elected.

I'm shocked--

I wonder if Bonnie would endorse Clyde??
I wonder if Stalin would endorse Hitler??
News of the day, Borin Orin endorses Bobby Bennett--
Vote Democrat and get rid of the fraternity.

Meaningless endorsement

Hatch is just like Bennett- a creature of Washington, in love with power, perks and prestige. Both have failed to keep their term limit promises.

Hatch's endorsement is totally meaningless. IN fact, if anything it steels my resolve to work hard for Bennett's opponent(s).

Orrin, time for you to retire too.

These incumbents have gotten the country into a real mess, and they ALL need to be thrown out. Republican replacements preferred, but at this point party is almost irrelevant. THROW ALL THE BUMS OUT!

No Surprise

One old geezer supporting another old geezer. Why doesn't this surprise me.

veedub

Orrin Hatch campaigned against Frank Moss mainly on the claim that Moss had been in too long and needed to go. Now Hatch has been in years longer than Moss was and seems to enjoy all the perks without truly representing his constituents. Bennett is more of the same.

I say vote all incumbents out who've been in longer than two terms!

European input

For what it's worth, I've never had the right to vote in Utah, but I do think very highly of Senator Bennett. I have discussed with him several times on his trips over to Brussels and I am extremely impressed by the depth of his understanding of issues pertaining to foreign policy. Most U.S. congressmembers really just read the cards, find out what the official party lines are, and regurgitate. Bennett is deep in the analysis and policyMAKING, not policy-spewing. He really represents your state well abroad, and I can only assume he does the same at home as well.

Old geezers

My Dad's 88 years old -- know what he told me the other day? He's never going to vote for either one -- Hatch or Bennett -- ever again. Know why? "They're both too old." Takes one to know, I guess.

bob tanner

what on earth does hatch say when confronted with his vow to only stay in the senate for two terms, unlike frank moss who was a senator for multiple terms??? does hatch have selective memory??? utah needs a change but shurtleff is an extremely weak alternative.

James M.

Two old has-beens supporting each other. Time for both to go.

Bench em

So Snorin' Orrin supports Bailout Bob - where's the news story?

This lifelong active republican is not buying the senority argument any longer.

These are the guys who lost control to the Dems, by acting like Dems, we need someone new to get the White House and Congress back for the Repubs by acting like Repubs.

Send Bennett and Hatch to the showers.

Go Shurtleff and whoever is running against Snorin' Orrin next time.

Eric

For me, it's all about the TARP vote. Middle America hated it, and we hated anyone who voted for it.

BIG surprise...

Bennett lost it for me with his involvment in TARP.

I left the Republicans

I'm through with Bennett AND Hatch. Both scored low on their voting records to support The Constitution that they have sworn to uphold.
