I sure do remember watching those shows as a kid. I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and my dad "moonlighted" as a special policeman at events. I remember meeting Roy Rogers and supposedly got a "hair" from Trigger! I don't know what happened to it though.
Flash forward to the eighties! TV Land was on the air and once I was watching Our Miss Brooks (lets face it, this is really campy now) and our daughter who was a teenager then couldn't believe it!
But I'm sure glad that some of these shows are on DVD's. I have several of Gracie Allen and George Burns and Jack Benny. I'd like to buy some of Milton Berle also, and sure wish that some of the plays that were shown are available, but I believe that many of these were burned or destroyed.
And who can forget Lassie! I watched the original series starring Jeff and cried on every episode!
These shows are far better (Lassie, Rin Tin Tin, Gene Autry and Roy Rogers, then the inane cartoons they show. And wish they would release some "old" Bandstand DVDs.
