I'll be that game this weekend praying for a miracle. Hopefully BYU will at least make a game out of it. The stars are aligned, the opportunity is there, BYU just needs to capitalize(yeah, easier said then done, but a schedule like this years doesn't come around very often).

Miracles happen....

but unfortunately not very often. Hesitate to burden the Lord with an almost impossible one.

My only prayer is that the Cougs don't embarrass themselves, their fans, the state of Utah, and the entire MWC by being blown out.

Keeping it close (45-41 or 35-28) would be wonderful.

See you at the game Rex. Go Cougs!!!

All the prayers and well wishes will not help that O line. As much as the Mountain West needs BYU to play well, they will do what they always do and fold in the big game. Isn't BYU 1-23 against ranked teams or something? When Bronco talks about the "Pillars" of the BYU program he never seems to mention choking on a national stage.

Erick

The Oklahoma coaches are worried about depth at linebacker. Control turnovers, Pitta and the receivers have a big day via rub routes, Jacobson return a kick for the hometown fans...and maybe, just maybe, there will be "The Miricale in Big D." GO COUGS!

Three Days

OU 55
y 16

That allows for a little adjustment for some new OU players. The y is not in the same class as Texas Tech, Missouri and Oklahoma State. Sam scored 60+ on all of them.

Funniest thing I heard all week was that the y was going to hold OU to 21 points. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Jim Hart

The Cougs are in so far over their heads on this one their true color will be showing before the end of the first quarter. Instead of praying for miracles they should have been signing a couch that could teach them how to reach back and find ways to win. Go yellow!!!

RE: keep preying Rex

> Isn't BYU 1-23 against ranked
> teams or something?

1) No.

2) It's true that it's not much better than 1-23, but keep in mind this particular team has not yet taken a snap. It's not like the Jazz, who we already know will have a bad road record next season because they're the same team they've been for a few years. For BYU it's a new season and a partially clean slate.

3) Besides, how are your Utes in their last 24 games against ranked teams? If it wasn't for BYU, they wouldn't even have 24 games against ranked teams! I don't mean to take anything away from the Utes, who had a great season last year, but any team other than the best five or 10 will have a losing record against ranked teams.

Midvale Ute

I'm not a BYU fan, but I'll be the first to tell you that the Big 12 does not have a claim to defense. Does BYU choke on the national stage? Sure does. But Big Game Bob and the Oklohoma Sooners seem to choke when then play a team with legitamate defense. It happened with Florida and BYU is capable as well. I don't think BYU's defense is as good as Utah's or TCU's, but good luck to the Zoobs. Oklahoma is not the total package.

Sanity

BYU by 7

calling palosi

I'm a bit tired of the scratching behind the ears of OU. You know they give out scholarships too. I give BYU even odds in this game. BYU is being very careful not to put any bulletin board quotes out there but as fans you are looking like Sheeple here. I hope BYU kicks the tar out of the big bad big 12's crown jewel. as for not being in the class of tech, missouri, osu, Give me a break if BYU played those 4 teams OU included I would go 3-1 or 2-2 with all being even games. Pull back the curtain, the wizard is just a guy. I don't buy your palosi.

Re: Sanity (right on)
People make these BCS conference teams out to be more than who they realy are. It just shows how the conferences and the media have been able to spoon feed us balony for all these years. When the entire country stops buying in to all the Nike, Under armor, Gatorade, etc...... hype maybe, we will have a playoff system. Some of you people are so predictable. Don't believe everything the ESPN boys are telling you. It's good the Running Utes didn't!!!!!!! Oh I almost forgot, ESPN is on.

To Jim Hart 4:03am: I've never seen a couch that could teach me anything except how to be a couch potato. I'm pretty good at that. Try spell and get-a-clue check.

'Sanity' is a Ute fan

And the only reason is that not even the most ardent BYU backer thinks the Cougs will win.
He's just trying to stir up trouble.

there are injuries on both sides, particularly byu. there are certainly weak links in certain positions again on both sides. this will be a good game for both teams. OU has much to prove at #3, while BYU has nothing to lose but be upset spoiler...and start their season on a positive note. however, i think OU will prevail in the end. as i see it, it will be multiple fire power against a single shot...sam and his arsenal...grisham, broyles, mandu, brown and murray to name a few. byu has hall and piita and unga, if not hurt. OU 49 BYU 21.

trueblut

don't believe all the hype. ESPN is all about making money. If they could make money by saying snow college was going to win the div.1 national title, they would. When I was in my twentys and even into my thirtys I was glued to ESPN. Now I realize how immature and inconsequential that whole scene is. "Wake up People" and Rid your minds of the MACHINE. If OU wins on saturday ? That is what it will mean. Nothing more or nothing less. They will have won a football game. When I read some of these blogs that use words like Kill, destroy, Maul, etc.. I think your talking about Wars and world dominance.

To trueblue

You said "People make these BCS conference teams out to be more than who they realy are. It just shows how the conferences and the media have been able to spoon feed us balony for all these years."

Then what exactly does it make BYU when we are 1-21 lately against these teams who are made out to be more than they really are? I am a big Cougar fan but the record speaks for itself. BYU is a very good mid-level conference, regional team. They likely have 4-5 chances this season to prove otherwise starting Saturday. But until they actually prove they can beat a legitimate team then maybe we should all show a little humility and be grateful that our Cougs actually overachieve in the way they do. I hope they break through to success against top 25 caliber teams as much as anyone. But so far they simply haven't.

Rushing QB the Key

If BYU can get to Bradford at least 5 times, they win. If that happens, Bradford will revert to either the quick handoff or the quick release, which will result in less accuracy.

Write it down: If BYU stuffs the QB at least 5 times, they win. Trust me.

BCS Hype

When all's said and done, the BCS Players put their pants on one leg at a time, just like everyone else. (trueblue got it right)

OU has the same muscles, same kind of bodies, same kind of brains as the BYU players. It will all depend on BYU's mindset. If BYU genuinely thinks they can compete and aren't afraid deep down, then they will make a game of it. If they're afraid and intimidated, they're beat before they walk on the field.

Which is it? Does anyone know members of the team well enough to know?

Reloaded

Some teams rebuild, others reload. OU reloads. In the 90's they could not even rebuild. Depth is what makes or breaks you in the 4th qtr and thru the season. Midvale ute - TCU was dismantled by OU last year 35 -10. Good luck all.
