Figure it Out

Too much drama. We all know it's Cain.

Not a fan of....

the 2-QB system, but I don't think Whit is either. He wants to get Wynn some reps in real game situations so he is better prepared to take the reins next year. I wouldn't be surprising to see Wynn take a series or two Thursday before the game gets too far out of hand.

Can't wait for Thursday!

Confidence Boost ??

Doesn't seem like either of these guys has really won the job and and the backing of the staff. And I wish Louks was still on board. Would be good to have someone who has actually been in a game before....Oh that's right we have our QB-Linebacker-QB Manis ready to go at 3rd string....

If you have two...

...you don't have one! Pick a guy, give him the opportunity to lead the team. Everyone is better of if their roles are clearly defined. If you don't designate a clear starting QB, you are placing an unnecessary mental strain on both players. C'mon coaches, name a starter and let everyone relax and play their game!

I can wait

The first two games of the season are more like "pre-season" games than anything else. A couple of easy to win, soft, pancakes that the Utes will obliterate. When it comes down to it the game against USU and San Jose State will be more like a glorified practice allowing our QBs to get some practice before deciding on the torch runner for the Oregon game.

So I will still be waiting for college football to start on the 19th.

Heres how it will playout..

Being on the inside fringe, here's how it will playout: Cain will get the starting nod. He'll stay in until Utah has a 3-touchdown lead, hopefully by the end of the first half. Second half Cain will call the first series, score, and then Wynn will come in for the rest of the game to get experience. You can put money on it.

Call me The Sage

Cain Fain, but Realistic

Cain will start the season, but Wynn will start the majority of the games and finish the season.

Cain is a Junior - No way they start Cain this year and then bench him his senior year for Wynn. If Wynn is going to be a 3 year starter they need to start him now.

re: Confidence Boost

Yeah, what we really need is a kid who has now been told by Utah and Nevada that he is not a DI QB.

The kid was being moved to defense, because both of the new QB's were better, without the headstart Louks had.

Stop the scare tactics. Louks was barely the 3rd best QB on the team, just ahead of two guys who had already moved positions.

Cloak and Dagger

It reeks of high-school one-upsmanship that they have selected the starter, but won't announce him until Thursday. Wooooooooooo -- we're going to surprise Gary Anderson by making him prepare for both QBs!!!

Give me a break. That's a cheap coaching ploy. I love Whit, but this is ridiculous. Listen, if we have to resort to cheap stunts like this before playing a team like Utah State, then what will we lean on when we actually play a good team?

My attitude is this: "We ARE Utah. We ARE one of the top five programs in the country year in and year out. We ARE better than you. We DO NOT fear you. We OWN the MWC. You ARE in the WAC. You ARE Utah State. Cain is OUR starter. Now, what ARE you going to do about it?"

2 QBs

Put them both in the huddle for the first play. That will really mess up Utah State.

Cain starts

Here's one reason why: The Utes are trying to recruit 4-star WR 6'4" Dexter Ransom out of Blinn College, the same junior college Cain played at. Give Cain a good experience at the U and maybe he'll lure Ransom here as well.

LASERMAN

Glad to know "If you have two..." and "Cloak and Dagger" know more than Coach Whit. Stop the complaining! Let the coaches do their jobs. I am a strong enough Ute fan that I don't question their decisions. I'm just happy that we don't have Coach Ludwig this season. He was far, far too predictable with his play calling.

Go Utes! Can't wait for tomorrow night!

Old Ute

I can not believe it. No TDS posts!

If it's not in the Dnews ..

.. the decision must not be made yet!

Eh, brainiacs!

Jordan Wynn All The Way

Why would you start anybody else but Wynn? He is the most talented quarterback that Utah has ever had. We need to start him and let him blosom into the greatest quarterback the State of Utah has ever seen.

This is a no-brainer. Wynn is more talented, more accurate, bigger, better and badder than Cain. Play Wynn now!!

Hey deseret readers,
The UNLV REBELS are the team on the rise! We will beat all comers from Utah this year in football and Men's basketball.
I can't wait to see the pumas get their heads handed to them on Saturday in Texas---it will be glorious!
I just hope Oklahoma leaves a price of them for our game on October 10th.
See you in a about a month; rigth after we beat the utes.

My attitude is this: "We ARE Utah. We ARE one of the top five programs in the country year in and year out."

Only a delusional fan would make such a comment which is a major characteristic of a fan from the Zoob Nation. A little success and even Zoob fans are jumping on the bandwagon. Don't blame them though its been 13 years since BYUs done anything significant on the national stage.

This is too funny

Listening to you yewt clowns. The University of Utah is a joke fluke football program. You get a little bit of success and you let it go to your heads. It doesn't matter what quarterback will play for your team this year cause either way your gonna be looking up from the middle of the MWC pack with your 6 win if your lucky 7 win season. Enjoy the fall pootes

re: Cloak and Dagger

Whit is doing this to protect the 2 qbs from media attention before their first D1 game. pay attention buddy. and p.s. be realistic, top 5 year in and year out? we have been top 5 two years in history, not year in and year out.
