Yup, we are bringing up a nation of whiners.Gimme this, gimme that. What can you do for me Mr. President? If that was my child writing that letter I would hide myself in shame.

nice

Nice idea for a book. Girl asks good questions. Just simple straight forward questions. She has learned civility.

Send her to public meetings to show the adults how to act.

President Obama: When are you going to stop hurting my children and grandchildren with massive debt?

Well...

I was going to spew forth some good ole W hate, but since we're talking about Obama...

Dear President Obama

You should be proud of this little girl from Ogden! She has embraced your "change" and seems to have internalized each and every one of your campaign points.

Your agenda has succeeded! At least with this little girl. You've created at least one more whiney, dependent, childish, and demanding Democrat who will unfailingly vote Democrat and look to government to supply all her needs.

You should be proud.

Mother of 7

Just makes me realize how important it is to teach our children the difference between wants and needs. But sadly most adults don't know that either!

Aaron

I have an idea for the young girl. She should become a scientist and learn how to remove the impurties from fossil fuels, then she won't see any more smog.

Cute Questions, for a Child.

"And most importantly, do you believe in ghosts?"

About as significant as the rest of her questions.

I love the question asking "Will you fix the economy?" followed by a handful of social program wants. Yeah, that will fix the economy! Obama is going to add more to the national debt in 4 years than was there when he came. Scary

Wow

11 yr old Claire to Obama: " How are you going to help me and my mom, who is now single, keep enough money in our pocket to buy food?"

"Claire takes ballet lessons at the Imagine Ballet Theatre and cello lessons at Weber State University. And when her mother, Lisa Kopelke, can afford it, Claire also takes piano lessons."

I hope Claire's mom can keep scraping those pennies together!

worldopinion

Claire, keep your big hopes. Especially, in the presence of the small-minded people in Utah. Remember that- fortunately-these people and their opinions mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING outside of Utah.

re: reality

So, the banks and other financial institutions that were responsible for almost bankrupting the country deserve more money to continue doing the same thing? this girl asked a question of someone in a position to do something about the economy, what a lot of people are questioning themselves. She just happened to put it in writing and send it out. Where was your comment or actions to get the government to not give a handout to the banks that started this mess. Or is this girl just an easy target for your ignorance?

Brian

The President has been well prepared for such enlightened questions through years of dealing with the searching questions asked by the enamored world media.

very cool

hey world opinion! Its small minded to categorize everyone in Utah as small minded but whatever... Claire I think you are fantastic! Whether I agree with your politics or not. I wish all of our youth would think as deeply as you have about something besides themselves. COngratulations!

Let me simply help this girl out.

Claire Mortenson asked Obama: "Are you going to make this continent greener?

Answer: That is the job of congress. The president does not pass laws.

Can you fix this economy?

Answer: Again not the job of the president.

How are you going to help me and my mom, who is now single, keep enough money in our pocket to buy food?

Answer: Not the government's job to ensure you have enough money. It is the job of your mom to do that. It is the job of your family to help her when necessary.

Will you keep the arts alive?

Answer: Not the job of the president.

And most importantly, do you believe in ghosts?"

Answer: Yes he can answer this one for himself.

Dear Claire

I'm sure you thank your mother every night, for the education you are getting. I'm sure times are tough, but your mother sees that your education includes both classroom and the arts.

As you can see here, education holds little value with some people in Utah, who will blame you and your mother for "not working hard enough". They won't feel that way, when "it" happens to them.

President Obama can't fix all those things by himself; we UNselfish people are working as hard as we can, in Utah's selfish political climate, to see that this country has a great future.

It's up to you, Claire, to get the education you need to work with others in the future, to make sure that jobs stay in the US, that all can be educated, that wages are fair, and that we support our elderly as they supported us.

God bless you and our President.
