The Aggie Glory years are pretty dismal. What about the Olsen years, they had to be better than 3 winning seasons?
There you have it, once again: The Utes are the big dog of the present, while Cougie fan has to go back two and a half decades.
It's good to be the king!
Sorry, lil bro in Provo.
I too think the Aggie golden age was 1960-61. The Aggies went 9-2, including a lose in the Sun Bowl to New Mexico State in 1960 and 9-1-1, losing the Gotham Bowl to Baylor, but still finishing in the top ten in both the AP and UPI polls.
Golden Age:
BYU 1979-1985
Utah 2003-present
:-)
Quiet on this story? Hmmm. No worries, I am sure the D-News will run another story on 1984 soon enough!
Good look against the Sooners, little brother. Remember how the Utes did when they played the # 2 team in the country earlier this year. You can do it! Wait- never mind. You're toast!
Speaks well of the cougars to be enjoying such success (32-7 over past 3 years, including two wins over the currently "golden" utes) when they are so far beyond their prime. With a national title to their credit, BYU is held to a higher standard. Hopefully this year they correct the bowl letdowns and can start moving from silver back to gold. Oh, and should the utes' golden era read "2003 to Present" or "2003 to 2008"? Remains to be seen....
