good job boys wait to go! 52 points not so bad along with a much better defensive performance. keep it up and just concentrate on sky view!
Congrats first of all to the diggers, and if you take away the fake punt, and kick off return, Layton only scored once, on a lucky play. Go Diggers, and kudo's to that D-Line, for smashing and man handling that so-call Layton all american Offensive line.
Jordan has a proud tradition. The team did well against the lancers. Go Jordan.
that was a good old fashion "beet" down.
"wait to go"? Wait for what?
Hopefully the athletes are receiving better education than J Fan.
Capitalization, punctuation, accurate word usage... an ability to communicate clearly will make more difference in their grown-up lives than sports.
What I thought would be a good battle turned out to be a blowout. Hats off to Jordan's QB1 & his O line. He had all day in the pocket. Receiving corp excellent as they vacuumed in everything that was within reach. I did think when J was up 4 TDs in the 4th Qtr that there was some stat padding going on when J kept passing. The little running they did wasn't impressive. Need to work on a more balanced attack, unless it's simply not needed.
Adam Bunting & the Layton O line deserves attention as the little guy found daylight all night. Attention Applegate: when you have a RB that averages 10+ yds/carry for 2 games now, you give it to him MORE! Awesome 95 yd kickoff return Adam!
Side note: In many yrs of watching HS football, this Jordan team & its coaching is one of the MOST undisciplined I've ever seen. Watch the game tape. Over & over again, personal foul flags flew. Sure, I thought the zebras were extremely whistle happy as they were breaking in their shiny silver mouth instruments. But When it gets this bad, the word "dirty" comes to mind. Jordan coach, get ahold of your kids early this year, or it'll get out of hand. More than average # of Layton players' knees & ankles were getting hurt....very honestly, too many. Start adding things up with personal fouls, undiscipline, dirty & you "could have" some J players giving an extra twist during a tackle or targeting a knee when hitting. Just be careful.
Jordan is good, but puzzling how NRidge gets blanked by Syracuse when S didn't look good the week before. A lot of ups & downs in 2 wks of R1 football already. I'm looking forward to Layton @ Northridge next week. Ahhhh, the season is just heating up.
Hey Rockwell, you can never say, just take away that & take away this. If that's the case, just take away Jordanks QB & the beetdiggers are nothing. LOL. The O line of Layton actually gave the L QBs time. L QBs just need to release sooner & they're simply not that talented. Good athletes, but not a Hart. Plus, give it to the J secondary. Great coverage.
Hey layton kid, what about when your safety blew up number 2 way after the whistle and way after they already threw the flag for pass interference? You call that clean? You call that discipline?
That was a eye opener for the layton program, can not play kids both ways whole game. you need to give them a rest there are other kids that can come in and give kids a blow, you also have to put kids on the field that will tackle, this one is on the def cordinator not offense.
Are you serious? "Most undisciplined team I've ever seen", "over and over the personal foul flags flew", "an extra twist during a tackle or targeting a knee when hitting", and "the word dirty comes to mind". I agree that even one personal foul is too many and I remember 3. 1st - late hit on the sidleine - no tackle, no throwdown, a shove and a justified call. 2nd - excessive celebration which was nothing more than the standard jumping high five every team does on every td. 3rd - a clean block on a punt return. Where is the "dirty" in any of that? Cheap shots are easy for all to see and I saw none. "Stat padding"? Jordan's 2nd and 3rd string were in 2 minutes into the 4th qtr. and I don't recall them throwing a single pass? TBLF you have painted an ugly picture of Jordan football team and their coaches here, one I don't feel is justified. You contribute to this board possibly more than any other fan. Comments like the ones you've made here discredit you and Layton football.
hart... best qb in the state
WAY TO BALL OUT OF YA'LL BRAINS BOYS. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.. JORDANS COACHES MADE THE RIGHT ADJUSTMENTS FROM LAST WEEKS WIN ESPECIALLY THE D. ROCKWELL STORM WHAT UP USO.
True blue you guys got wasted quit talking and Layton was twice as dirty!
Not sure who you're referring as a kid, but if that's what #2 did, then 3 things. That was "ONE" incident to many infractions & stupid mistakes by J.Don't defend Jordan & their dirty play & three, if it makes you feel better, #2 is one of those L players that was wearing a boot cast by halftime. He was missed in the 2ndary. Hmmmmmm....could it be coincidence or malice?
As far as Layton players playing both ways. Not sure where you're from, but you should know that Layton has 1600 students, barely above the 1500 student minimum to be 5A. It's a double edged sword for playing both ways. Layton would be horrible if they played kids on 1 side of the ball only. They wouldn't be able to compete.Jordan has that luxury of having more athletes to choose from,
Maybe Layton ought to go 4A so they could beat up on all the 4A schools. I'd rather see them compete up instead of down.
P.S. to the poster at 12:25 PM, Aug 29th.
Don't tell me I'm discrediting Layton football. That's not possible. If you've seen me here quite a bit, then you should know I back up what I say and I'll hold myself accountable. Also, if you read these boards that much, why have you not created a name for yourself yet? you just read and then occasionally post to argue? You made some very valid points in argument....and it's ok to disagree. Most of these message boards include disagreements. Would be boring if it were just a place to say "good job". It would be nice for you to unmask yourself so we can at least communicate.
no, no, no True Blue Layton fan... it was your player's late hit (in the back) on Jordan's #2. It was a cheep shot, totally uncalled for. You really should take the time to watch the film.
TBLF is embarrassing himself. The only really dirty hit of the game came by way of the Layton Strong Safety who lit up jordan's #2 well after the play. Watching it on KJZZ, I still wonder why that kid wasnt kicked out? Those are the hits that can injure someone significantly. no need for those. Jordan was just the better team, But i dont put them with the PG's, Binghams and Alta's just yet
Sorry, thinking of another play. Then it 'was' coincidence that L's #2 was out. Maybe? :-) I'm curious who made the hit....if anybody knows. Fell asleep to the tune of Steve Brown & Alema Harrington on KJZZ. zzzzzz. Again, it was one play, probably a retaliation move.
I mentioned the zebras earlier, and I'm not one to blame a loss on a zebra. I'm just surprised how many flags were thrown. I'll give them a break....it's early in the year. Another thing, somebody give the refs whistles that work! Or put them on a training regime so they have enough air in their lungs to blow the whistles. There was one play, on the Layton side of the field about the Layton 30, where the refs didn't blow the whistle hard enough and both the 2 tacklers and the receiver kept going.....and the flag was thrown for a late hit on Layton. That was quite hilarious. So refs.....take a deeeeeep breath, and BLOW THE WHISTLE!
Hey I agree. You don't give yourself even a chance of embarrassing yourself.....because you have no name. For all we know, you're probably the same person as Anonymous. LOL.
BTW, I'm not embarrassed. You guys keep talking about one play. Where were you.....buying hotdogs the rest of the game?????
