I agree with Oh Dear! I understand that it costs quite a bit of money to send out the search parties, but when it comes to children,especially 10 and under, you can never be too cautious!

You should know where your children are at all times - this is definitely because of the media attention on a few rare cases -- our kids are actually safe most of the time. What a waste of our taxpayer $$ and the comment is right, "Predator Panic" is at an all time high, for sure.

Seems to me you ought to WATCH your kids.........no supervision...scary problem for a lot of people and un needed expense for me...the taxpayer. We are the ones who pay for all this so our money should be better spent and could have been, if not for your lack of supervision....5 and 7 are much too young to be left unattended. If you're adult enough to produce children, you should be accountable for their whereabouts

Somebody could use some parental supervision - namely the parents in this situation.

Send them the bill. They'll have incentive to watch their kids from now on.

Yes, the mother could have been more watchful, but when it comes to your kids, you should do whatever it takes to find them! Wouldn't you do the same for your kids?
