is the city of Spanish Fork wasting $30,000 on this event, when employees jobs are being threatened?
The money was raised from sponsors, vendors and the public who attended. This is typical of how events work. People who attend the event spend money there and in Spanish Fork. Again... how these events work.
Dear Y, If you had attended this event you would not have thought that any money was "wasted" even though the money did not come from the city. This event educates while entertaining. It would be like saying why are we waisting money on schools. This was a rare opportunity for the community to see and learn about a critical need to utilize better ways to produce energy. "Spend" money would have been more appropriate than "wast" money.
