I think USU will present a problem for Utah's defense. The problem being that their QB wont be throwing passes DIRECTLY to our defenders like they became accustom to last game. It may take a bit for them to adjust, like having to run to intercept the ball instead of just catching one while camping out eating a sandwich, but they will, and then they'll dominate. Maybe only 2-3 interceptions this game. Go UTES!

I have always been a local sports fan of all the teams. Really. I cheer for them all. But every once in a while I get really sick of -not the teams - but the absolutely stupid fans that write in here.

Y fan, you are what ruins it all. Boo? Grow up!! Just go away and be a baby somewhere else. That goes for any who write into these things that have nothing constructive to say but cheap cuts. Say something worth while or just be silent. I am embaressed for you when comments like these show up. The Boooor us to death. Enough all ready.

Now, look at what I just did! Joined you..uh!!

Re: Re: Ute4life @1:21... I thought you would understand the name but since a simpleton like you needs explaining... It means that I am a proud fan of the Utah Utes and will be forever... it means that I don't cheer for a team that is worthless year in and year out. Can the same be said for you?
If you're so confident in your 'prediction' why don't you man up?

Re: Ute4Life imposter... I was actually referring to a monetary bet. But I suppose its safe to assume that since you want to wager food your a professional, obese, out-of-shape couch potato?

Boo Utes??? Really? Lets see... What is "THE" University of Provo winning streak... OH YAH... ZERO!!!!

Its about tiem somebody on here besides me recognized that Utah does in fact have a Quarterback, and a really good one at that, and I know some of you are going to talk crap about JC Ball, but I will say it again, A QB From Snow College in EPHRAIM friggin UTAH who never made it above a #7 JC Ranking led Oklahoma to a national title, I'm not saying Cain is taking Utah all the way I'm just saying the kids in the NJCAA can play...just look at Asiata, he came from Snow.

Louie was the BMOC last year, it will be tough to replace him. I dont give a hoot about what happens in practice, this is a nice article, but we will not know ANYTHING until we see them in action. 100% difference in practice and game situations.

Alright then, a hamburger or a small pizza, whatever.

    - You better....

Uh...I don't have that kind of money to pay up if I should lose. You see, when I said "put your money where your mouth is" I was thinking of something edible, like maybe a hamburger or a pizza (a small one). Could we do that instead?

And no, Ute4Life ISN'T a prison sentence! Stop making fun of me!!!

Yeah, I'll put my money where my mouth is. I'll bet you $1 million. Just make the check out to:
"You better.... 9:23 a.m. Aug. 28, 2009". Then leave it here on this board for me to pick up.

By the way, is "ute4life" some kind of prison sentence?

  • I look for a blowout but.......
    Aug. 28, 2009 12:37 p.m.

I also anticipate a slow start. I have a feeling the halftime score will be closer to 10 - 3 or 14 - 7. I just do not see the Utes setting the world on fire that first half. Anderson obviously will have a good scheme coming in and we will have a new qb but in the end 35 or 42 - 14 is what will be on the board when all is said and done.

USU actually has a defense? I'll believe it when I see it. Utah 37 USU 14. Halftime will be Utah 28 USU 0. Remember that you are going up against one of the best defenses in the nation and we will also be missing out best DL (Koa Misi). USU will be rebuilding for a couple of years and then will be decent. Coach A is a great coach, but he has alot of work cut out for him.

  • To You better...
    Aug. 28, 2009 11:55 a.m.

You're right - we might as well not even have the game at all. I mean, the JC Player of the Year won't have a clue against your fearsome Aggies. It's not like he spent the last year tearing it up against teams about as good as (if not better than) the Aggies in JC ball, right?

Coach A is good, but it'll take him a year or two to improve the Aggie program enough to compete consistently with Utah (and BYU).

Haha okay beating usu 50 to 21 is unrealistic... You guys yet to choose a starting QB and most of the graduated last year. So you guys have a new team that hasn't played any games yet and you are calling a "blow out"??? We are only replacing two graduates...just wait and see the new defense of Bill Bucsh. I'm not saying we will win, but you guys need to stop day dreaming about a "blow out"

Not likely! the U is better than USU by far! Way Far. Too Far!! I think things will change some in the future now that you have one of our coaches, but. For now, status quo! Utah 50, USU 21 (Because Coach Wit won't want to destroy Coach A.)

I sure hope we get get to play some really overrated OOC teams this year too, like how we had Michigan and Alabama last year. Too bad our toughest games won't be at home this season and will all be road losses. Darney pooh.

Nice to have the special teams portion in safe hands apparently. The defense is solid, now we just need to hope the offense turns out okay and we are looking at another fun season!

  • You better....
    Aug. 28, 2009 9:23 a.m.

have a great kicker, cuz you ain't got no qb!

re:trueblue. apparantly, you haven't watched Utah footbal as long as I have but, Until Louie, the kicking game left a bit to be desired. It's gotten better and I hope that continues but, it hasn't always been that way.

Dave came home from his mission and ended up getting married to his high school sweetheart and is not playing football anywhere.

  • Won't need kicking game...
    Aug. 28, 2009 8:15 a.m.

Great kicking talent at the U, but I don't think our punter will be in much because of 3rd down conversions, touchdowns and field goals. Utah 58, USU 17

The Utes always have a solid kicking game and specialty teams play. Coach Witt kows how important those parts of the game are. Go Utes, roll the aggies.

Does anyone remember the kid from Bountiful who kicked for us as a freshman before Sakoda took over. He went on a mission after his freshman year and I've never heard about him again.
