Decide if it sounds like a fun place to visit. If so, consider it a two year working vacation. It also helps if you can get someone else to finance it like I did. If the location is not appealing to you, tell them no thanks.

Also take some pictures (post cards/old calendar photos) of scenery in your home city/state to show during activities. If you are sent to a different climate region, people may never have seen autumn leaves, sand dunes, red rock canyons, ice/snow covering mountains/trees, frozen lakes/streams etc. It's fun to share photos of your home area. Giving service to others via a mission is very worthwhile. Years ago, we lived in the Philippines and people often asked us about snow/ice/winter. (We were serving as US Peace Corps volunteers.)

Join the Army or do something worth while. The world really doesn't need more propagantists, that is why we have politicians for that job.
