Thank you for the wonderful article. It made me realize once again what truly is important.

The one thing our kids, we have 9, remember best about growing up is we gave them our time, we were at all their activities. It ment lots of driving but was worth it. Now we are doing the same with our grandkids, 16 of those.

Great article. The other comment that I hear parents make is that they want to give their child(ren) "every advantage". I often wonder if they mean they want to give them every opportunity or if they mean advantages over other children. I think they would say they want to provide opportunities but if they did some soul searching they would have to admit that what they really want is for their children to have/be more than other children.

Great story on priorities. Things have their place,
but Time is the most importatant. That is "Quality
Time" of interaction, not just time together watching the same TV show. Trouble with much of TV
programming is that it's Not very Interactive. They do it all for the viewer. Many times they tell the viewer "when" its time to even laugh.

Less TV and More real Live interactive time and More real time for just talking at the dinner table together would be really great for today's kids to grow up with.

I do not have children but will eventually. I will want the very best of everything for them. This doesn't meant that I want them to have better than other children. It only means that I want the best to be available for them to choose to have.

I do not believe in brand name clothing and I attest make-up. I challenge anyone to sit down at the Megaplex District theater and look at the people in this area. So many people impulsively follow every trend that becomes popular. It isn't that hard to see. Though I want to avoid this behavior, there is bad education and good. I will want my children to have the best education realistically available.

I cannot afford to pay cash for Harvard or to even pay for the best private school in Utah. I only believe that with what is available to us we should use it to it's potential.
