Transported by helicopter for minor injuries? Are you kidding me? I bet the parents will be happy to get that bill.
Why is it so many little kids are being hit and run over??? Parents need to be a little more aware of what their kids are doing and where they are.
A little less time lying on the couch or watching television and more time with the child and these things won't be as prevailant.....
I am also shocked and saddened to hear so many stories of youngsters being run over. Parent have got to start watching their children. Accidents can happen in just a matter of seconds. Things like this should not keep happening. Wake up, parents!
Who determined they were minor injuries? If so, why use the huge expense of a helicopter.
Who was watching or not watching the child. The poor mailman and the lucky child.
It is very hard to keep track of little ones especially a three year old. They can walk out of the house undetected. My three year old is very sneaky and she has let her self outside while I thought she was in her bed napping so it happens sometimes. I have had to install extra locks on my doors so that she cannot get out, I also have considered getting an alarm so that I know if she has left her room. Accidents happen that is why they call them accidents sometimes it is not any ones fault.
Obviously, the hospital determined the child had minor injuries... WHY the helicopter??? Did you read the story? How would they have known that this child didn't have a major head injury or internal organ damange? Like the story said, they take extreme caution, and wanted to make sure the child got the most apporpriate attention ASAP. They made the right call. I'd hate to be a parent that found out their child didn't survive after being "run over", because they didn't get the child to the hospital the quickest means available. This story obviously ended the best way possible. These parent's could very well be planning a funeral for their child... instead of being thankful that their unattended child is alive!!!
Mom of Four-I hope you don't go for five if you are finding it difficult to keep track of four.
Some kids aren't curious about the door locks and some are. Unfortunately a child gets out undetected and that's when mom and dad learn their little one can work the lock. The correct action to take is to install the extra/different locks perhaps at different heights. It's not difficult. It just happens.
I didn't notice a fence but perhaps that is just the picture. Maybe the child was playing outside and not confined or figured out the gate latch? Without a fence really needs supervision. Even with a fence a 3 year old should be atteneded anyway outside.
Obviously they wanted the little girl to get to the specific hospital in a certain time frame. So they used the helicopter to get them there. So grateful they are minor injuries. Some incidents lately haven't ended so happily.
I just think whoever wrote this is a great journalist
