Sounds nice, but . . . | 12:42 a.m. Aug. 25, 2009
our Spendthrift-in-Chief and his Democratic lapdogs in Congress have already gotten the country nearly two trillion in the red FOR THIS YEAR ALONE! Wake up! We're bankrupt! We need to cut costs, period.

The statement “It costs a lot less to do this than make weapons. Why are we not doing it?", both asks the question and gives the answer. The world we live in is a commercial world and the most profitable business in this world is the manufacture and use of military arms.

All governments of nations in the world are Capitalists in their dealings with other nations. Wars are fought for the reason to gain or retain an economic advantage. Education is not only less profitable than war but threatens the very fabric of a nations control over their people.

Even so, I have often wondered just how great would be the business in the world if all people everywhere had the resource ability to consume and create as Americans have.

Let us examine this! Countries B through Z, ignore their own people, to their own detriment, but country A, should be responsible, and foot the bill.
Did I miss something? Truly, the problem with socialism, is sooner or later you run out of other peoples money. Prime minister Thatcher was right!

Thank you so much for writing this article. I don't understand how anyone could argue against the importance of children getting an education. If we only spend the time and resources to make this possible, millions of lives will be saved and changed.
