After seeing my Tbirds play tonight, I'm hoping week 3 isn't a total blow out. Probably will be as Alta looks tough. Will be interesting if PG or Bingham can give them a fight.
All i can say is welcome to 5A football boys!
welcome to 5A :)
Now cottonwood and timpview can keep there mouths shut. you are good in 4A. thats why you are there
I think tonight just showed why your coaches did not want to play the bigger schools before now. Pressure made your coaches setup these games this year. All this talk for the past few years on who could beat whom. Schools with larger student bodies should be better; they have more kids to pick from. Nothing against smaller schools, that is why they have 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A and 5A classifications.
Alta showed you tonight why they are 5A champs. Please use plenty of ice on your bruises. Alta could have hung 90 on you tonight.
2007 all you would hear is all the studs were gone, 2008 all you would hear is all the studs were gone, 2009 all you would hear is all the studs were gone - wow they look pretty good once again.
A'i Ho-ching is one of the best line backers in the nation and it's to bad that he was out this week! i can't wait to see him dominate bingham next week...
I heard a cottonwood coach last year say, “if they played 5A they would be the champs”. We can only say "Welcome to 5A Cottonwood”. Sorry your coaches made As... out of you boys. Cottonwood deserves better. Coaches in Utah high school football are the biggest embarrassments this state has. Remember Football is a game, not a religion.
Nope footballs a religion. and im alta fan but TV and cottonwood have been equal good teams. The rest of the 4A Teams are the weaker ones. no sence in being rude after that type of win. Yea it would have been nice to see alta play tv the past two years too, you never know how a game will turn out and that is why we play the game. Come on hawks lets stay classy and support our boys.
weve got a long season ahead of us a tough rode to face.
The team looked great last night, they were bigger, stronger, faster and better coached. The biggest question mark I saw was the offensive line, including Jordan Black. For as much talking he did during the game, and it looks like after the game as well (this article and in the Trib) I'd shut my mouth until I went at least one game without giving up a sack. I saw him give up at least two. As a BYU fan as well, I'm wondering if the coaches are so enamored with his size (6'7" 290 lbs), they're overlooking his footwork (slow) and drive (he just gave up on one of the sacks).
Now the boys at CWood understand what it's like to compete against a program with more athletes and won't be so disrespectful next time they run it up on a smaller school.
wow is all I can say! Not only did Alta look better than ever, Jordy Brown put an end to the question of how he would fit in in about 20 seconds. He held the ball too long a few times and missed some open guys but for the most part he looked like he's ready to drive the ship to port again. The biggest surprise were the two sophomore's on defense who started, impressive players who fit right into the team. The receivers were steller, nothing was dropped and they have some serious threats at every spot. I can imagine Coach Peck is looking at video this morning wondering if Alta was that good or Cottonwood was that bad.
Cottonwood is a very good team, they may have the most physical defense that Alta plays all year, with that said. HOLY COW! ALTA hung 52 points on them (minus the pick 6 by the defense). Alta's offense is awesome. Jordy Brown looked awesome. The receiving core is stellar, the running game is strong, and the o-line is fun to watch with the ever animated J-Black! Cant wait till next week!
Oh I mean Brown. Great balanced attack
The coaches at Alta have become better themselves over the years they are getting better and better.
Need to take a look at the back up QB situation (scary)
Also the corners look, need some work, you could see those plays coming so secondary need to work things out.
If you want to be a leader then lead don't flap you jaws. You guys have a lot of work ahead. Your comments in the paper didn't impress me. BYU coach was watching the game. Not impressive, I'm sure you saw the film this morning.
Cottonwood, welcome to reality. This is what happens when you open your mouth. Goodluck in your 'weak' region and get ready to get beat or should I say 'rolled' by a #4 seed come playoffs. See you in the bleachers at Rice Eccles.
Look at the scoreboards. 1st game of the season and the state just showed who is better.
Our little league teams are better than your team.
