This is about the requirement of placing ones faith in Jesus,Not his faithfulness, or Jesus's faith, which can lead to some un-Bibical doctrines.
Example of Faithfulness (1John 1:9) "If we confess our sins,(he is faithtful)."(pistos estin).

Modern day lingo "God helps those who help themselves." "Grace is granted to men pro-portionately as they conform to the standards of personal righteousness that are part of the gospel plan." (Bruce R McConkie, Mormon Doctrine)
Christian Doctrine "(Ephesians 2:8,9)"For it is by grace you have been saved,through faith,and this not of yourselves,but it is a gift of God, not by works so no one can boast.
