Louks could learn a thing or two from this dude about attitude and work ethic. Both Christopher and Louks are athletes. As far as it looks, only Christopher has the mentality of a football player. On a team, in an organization, in a society, you do what's best for the team, no less. I ruined my football career because of my selfish attitude and my refusal to play another position that I was probably better fit for anyway. Because of that experience in football, I live by those principles in my everyday life. Always do what's best for the team. ALWAYS.
I think we know the Utes recruiting strategy. Recruit all quarterbacks and then switch them to new positions once they are here.
I'll bet McKay Jacobsen could beat him in a race to the Y on the mountain.
Go Cougars!!!!!!!!!!
That post is why BYU is so hated.
You guys(BYU Fans)need to get over youselves. We will just let the play do the talking!
To Fallen Utes,
Statistics can be used to say anything you want them to say. BYU may have had three 10 win seasons but over that last 5 seasons utah has performed better. If we take in the last 25 years BYU may be statistically better, but if we do the past 100 years it may be Utah. So who is better? Well, if you want to compare coaches, Kyle has more awards than Bronco. The team, Utah has more success on the national stage than BYU.
Whatever
We have let a BYU irrelevant dictate the tone of this board. How embarrassing for all of us.
Christopher is obviously something very special and I'm sure we will see a lot of him this year. I agree with Joe 1:40am, Utah football is a team sport and we have A LOT of very unselfish players. It starts at the top and Whittingham is simply a genius at making players successful at other positions.
I have every confidence that Louks will come around and what a player he is going to be!
Another athlete. Glad he is working hard to get on the field. HE has got good size, if he puts in the work, you never know what can happen. GO UTES!
Congratulations Devonte!!!! I for one was really pumped up to see you play QB although it looks like you have found a home at WR. You have made the rotation on a very, very, very, deep receiver position at one of the most prestigous programs in the country. What an accomplishment Devonte, and to think you are only a FRESHMAN!!! Can't wait to see your athleticisim once you get that ball in the open feild.
GO UTES!!!
I am a BYU fan that doesn't hate Utah, and occasionally I look at the comments after reading articles about both BYU and Utah. I have noticed how stupid the comments are on both sides (I must agree that the stupidest are "righteous" comments from BYU fans and they make me ashamed), and really hope that most of the comments are just from people with no life, and are not representative of the fans on either side. From what I have seen as a student of BYU, I think I am right about BYU fans and most are not as stupid as some of the comments make us seem. To people who make stupid comments: please stop making all of us seem stupid. Thanks.
Utah is so deep this year it ought to be against the law. At every position Whit has double stacked talented, skilled players. If you want to play you have to be the best. You can't take anything for granted.....except Yners overpromising every year.
I'm not sure I would be talking trash with two of your starting offensive linemen, one of them the only returning starter, out for the season. I especially wouldn't be predicting a win over Utah this early. Beyond that, to predict only a six win season when Utah has this much returning talent on both sides of the ball.
You say you ruined your own career by being selfish and not putting the team first, but after reading your post, I would hazzard a guess that part of your self destruction had to do with flapping your jaw about things you didn't know about and not listening. Louks has been wonderful and has accepted his coaches decision. He put on a black jersey Saturday and played dback. Before you pile on a college age kid who has put his heart and soul into winning a position--(who may have seemed a bit mouthy--but never ONCE knocked any of his competition) you might want to get your facts straight.
Don't stress about the self righteous B.Y.U. comments or the dumb Utah comments on these boards. Most people are just trying to get a rise out of others. There isn't a way to know if these are just a bunch of Junior High kids seeing how much reaction they can get out of people. I'm a B.Y.U fan and respect both programs. I think Utah is building a great program and am glad they are doing well. I think the majority of fans on both sides are fairly level headed and just say stuff to stir the pot for fun. Everybody calm down and enjoy the season. It's pretty cool to have two great college football programs so close together. Go Cougars!
Whoooaa big fella, this is an article about a player who switched positions and made the travel squad. Did anyone read the part where he had such a successful sophomore season as an end. Did you notice that he reads the defense and offense really well and likes the change so that he can play to his highest level. Just a reminder . The comments here from the tds team are such that the article Blue by you.
I was hoping Christopher played QB this year. Nevertheless, with his talent and athleticism he's still be a good fit the wide out.
All those Coug fans harping on Utah players switching positions: Don't hate because we recruit talented athletes and you cannot.
Great attitude! It is always hard for a QB to make the transition to another position! QB's are very self-confident individuals who are used to the role of "running the offense". However, in many cases they do much better at another position because of their athleticism. Devonte and Corbin need only look at Coach Whittingham's track record of switching players into new roles. Paul Kruger's switch from QB to defensive end is only one example. Provided they both keep their efforts at a high level, both Devonte and Corbin will be stars for the Utes. Now and forewver, GO UTES!!
Do these intangibles include cutting practices short and losing offensive linemen?
Well stated and right on point. Cooler heads prevail!! Comments like this just might one day take some of the rancor out of these boards that seem to bread irresponsibility.
GO UTES....GO COUGARS (especially Utes)
The lame posts about righteous living and what not are NOT cougar posters. They are UTE posters trying to incite other UTE fans. Looks like it worked. If the statement looks too ludicrous to be true, it probably is.
