Howard S.

"... that's part of being a champion and being a Cougar – working through adversity and learning how to bounce back when things don't go my way..."

BYU football is sooooo inspirational.

Re: Howard S.

BYU handles adversity well. Not sure how you'd handle it.

Observation-ist

BYU-haters are increasingly easy to spot. Howard, your sarcasm puts you squarely in the BYU-hater category. Perhaps if your team had more to cheer about, you'd have less time and energy for hatred towards BYU.

I'm happy to hear that Vic has found a home. He's talented and energetic. Congrats Vic. Go Cougars!

Re: Re Howard

All except Maxie, of course. But everyone knows that...my apologies for beating the dead horse.

No actually BYU is Howard's team - they own him - If BYU turns left he turns right, if BYU sits down he stands up. He has no other real team - We certainly don't want him at Utah

re:observation-ist

Don't rip on the U fans, they have no purpose or identity. If it weren't for BYU they wouldn't know what to do with themselves.

teach

Don't you just love the three-year old mentality of the rivalry? P.S. My dad could beat up your dad.

A telling fact

I recently read a Corbin Louks article. I also read the comments at the end. The fact that stood out to me was that not one BYU fan had posted a comment. I thought it was pretty funny that BYU fans spend their time commenting on their own team, while Ute fans spend more of their time searching out BYU articles to comment on. BYU fans' passion---BYU football. Ute fans' passion---BYU hating, then, if there is time, supporting the U.

Little Brother

It's actually nice to see that even after the Yewts success of last year, they STILL have the little brother complex! They can't enjoy what their own team has accomplished.....maybe it's because they realize they are on the verge of an 7-5 season, at best! Go back home little bro, your annoying.

Re: A telling fact | 8:51 a.m.

Your "facts" are taken out of context and you, sir, are one of the more if not the most disrespectful posters on the Utah boards. Your style is unmistakable and you are largely responsible for the retaliation of Utah fans on BYU boards.

Maybe your own can get you to grow up. How about it, BYU fans?? Most of you are first class...can you reign in this guy and I will work on the Utes.

Otherwise...let the good time role.

Offensive Line

Is done, finished, its over!!! 3 weeks ago BYU fans were claiming the MWC trophy and possibly a BCS National Championship.

Sometimes BYU fans are like the Democrats, they look into a crystal ball and forget just how foggy things were in the beginning!!!

P.S. I'm no UTE!

Facts??

I am so embarrassed I actually did this...

I just looked at an article on the Utah board. 9 posts, 4 of them from BYU fans. Who hates whom? Who would rather bash a team than support their own?

2 of the BYU posts appear to be from "A telling fact | 8:51 a.m." himself (or herself) which is telling it's own right. If not the same person, then certainly someone of a similar diminutive intellect.

Sad commentary on BYU and who Mendenhall has for supporters, don't you think?

mr. j

I just read the comments on the competing utah article that came out today. i had to suffer through three of the most agonizingly absurd posts ever posted telling me how i dont live righteosly because i'm a ute or somthing. As far as bashing posts on the other teams articles, its sixes.

and dont make fun of the way i spell 'righteosly.'

it wouldn't be clever.

BYU Grad 1993

Can we please keep our mouths shut!! I hopped on the "Quest for Perfection" bandwagon last year and had to eat "humble pie" for the rest of the season. I wish all of Cougar Nation would tone down how well BYU is going to do this year. Let's take it one game at a time. Also, it really does make a huge positive difference in public perception about our athletic conference when a team like Utah or TCU has a great year. It is in our best interest for both teams in Utah to do well. It has taken me a long time to finally acknowledge that when Utah does well, BYU does well.

Silly People

I am a BYU fan that doesn't hate Utah, and occasionally I look at the comments after reading articles about both BYU and Utah. I have noticed how stupid the comments are on both sides (I must agree that the stupidest are "righteous" comments from BYU fans and they make me ashamed), and really hope that most of the comments are just from people with no life, and are not representative of the fans on either side. From what I have seen as a student of BYU, I think I am right about BYU fans and most are not as stupid as some of the comments make us seem. To people who make stupid comments: please stop making all of us seem stupid. Thanks.

Soto

Soto has been given much hype by the local media, why I am not sure. Every year he changes position and gets hurt, (not good). Please stop writting articles about a player that has done nothing at BYU until he actually acomplishes something. I feel bad that he has had repeated injuries but please stop telling us how good he is until he does something!

The difference

The U fans admit how they act, zoobs are in denial about it!! Ask a true Ute fan, we have to get trashed before the game to act like you do after your punch and cookies or am I wrong and you fans are getting trashed too, would make sense!

Now it is just a matter of which program is getting better and who is staying the same. Utah shows greatness, wins the big games and the ones they should most of the time......BYU wins the games they should and hasn't accomplished anything special for 20 years!

Us Ute fans are just happy to point that out to you is all!

re: Re: Howard S

we know how the Yewts handle it. Back in 07 you guys got a few injuries and with the whining you guys did and the excuse making you would have thought that the entire varsity was lost for the season.

Meanwhile, BYU went through just as many meaningful injuries to key players and they didn't miss a beat, didn't make any excuses and played on. The guys who replaced the injured players stepped up and did what was expected of them and the team finished the year 11-2.

Kevin Feterick for MVP

whats up brothers? GO BYU!!!!!!!!!! WE are going tok ill those steupid utes this year! HA ha ha we are the best! MWC and BCS champs! You heard it heree first!

Holler at me brothersren!

Seriously?

You think the self-righteous posts are from real Cougar fans? Think again. The great majority are from Utes. The sad thing is that those statements could easily come from a Cougar fan.
