This is the second time I have found myself agreeing with Mr Florez. I could not let that pass without acknowledging it.

Lawmakers will protect the status quo, so ethics reform is doomed. The GOP super-majority does not have a clued as to the meaning of ethics anyway. Want change, get away from the notion that the GOP is the Lord's political party and develop a true two-party system in Utah. Right now we have the Utah equivalent of United Russia.

As a right-wing extremest, neo-con, member of the vast right wing conspiracy, and whatever else you can think of, I feel that we need to have a state wide referendum to ban all gifts, lunches, Jazz Tickets, Zoo Tickets, Play tickets, breakfasts, dinners, cookies, golf outings, out of state meetings (unless absolutely necessary), etc. Any free perk from a lobbiest. Even the pens and pads.

Why would YOUR (hey, don't blame me, I did not vote them into Office), reform ethics?. If they did, they could not get perks, paybacks, PAC monies, free party's, free resort vacation's, lobbiest moneys, free plain trips, gifts, lunches, Jazz Tickets, Zoo Tickets, Play tickets, breakfasts, dinners, cookies, golf outings, out of state meetings and out of the Country meeting's to, sporting envent free box seat ticket's, TV show's, and making TV ad's to, etc. That's why YOUR Legislators are now still trying to play the same tricks on YOU before the 2010 election with their talk-only about ethics reform, to pacify the public back into voten for them in 2010.

I think we should limit the number of bills that are filed each year (on average about 800 during the 45 day session). Some other states do so. Then, they can be read and digested and the bad ones can be voted out.
@Patrick | 9:17 p.m. Aug. 17, 2009
Or, if there is no time to read the bills, just vote against them since no one can, in conscience, vote for something they haven't read. Oh, that requires a conscience. Never mind.

Too bad the organized voice working for the peoples of Utah
is not our own elected legislators. Listen up, elected
lawmakers. Care!
