How wonderful! What a great family who have obviously done many things right! My third son is out right now, but I've had them all go one at a time.

When I see and talk to the Missionaries, who are always sharpely dressed and clean shaven. The thought occurs to me, Jesus had long hair and a beard, and turned water into wine, but today he could not get a temple pass, or in (Luke 23:43)the promise
of the Lord to the repentant robber was fulfilled that same day. He went to Heaven, Jesus did not require a white shirt or a shave. Through the years I have tried to share the Scriptures in Greek, but they have rarely showed interest.

The thief didn't automatically win a ticket to heaven. The Lord promised that they would be together in 'paradise' that very day. But the Hebrew belief regarding paradise, or 'sheol' ...is that place in which the blessed dead shall await the Day of Judgment.

Only after that Day of Judgment, in which all will be judged according to their words, and according to their deeds...will we enter into God's kingdom, or otherwise.

What a great positive story of family commitment and blessing on the family while their children are away serving the Lord. Many in my family have served missions and the ones who have not regret not having that experience. Thank you for sharing the story of the Bird Family.

Paradise(paradeisos)The Apostles Bible(Greek Setuagint translators used it of the Garden of Eden. The promise of the Lord to the repentant robber was fulfilled that same day; Christ, at his death, having committed his spirit to his Father went immdeiately into Heaven itself, the dwelling place of God. In(2Cor 12:4) Paul was caught up into paradise. (ton paradesion)In Greek "The Paradise",

I wasn't aware that they even had white shirts and corner barbershops in Jesus' day.....His appearance was very appropriate for the time he lived in. Living and grooming conditions are much improved since those days and today's standard is to be neatly dressed and clean shaven. The white shirt is a symbol of purity and a sign of respect for our Father in Heaven. And FYI, I do not think long hair and a beard will keep you from getting a temple recommend if they are clean and neat and you are living worthily.

Christ and the thief did NOT arrive where God dwells. In fact it wasn't until 3 days later after Christ's Resurrection that he himself when to his fathers abode. John 20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

So this "Paradise" Christ and the thief went to is diffrent then Heaven where God dwells.

It's a place where the un-gospeled are taugh the gospel. Christ went there to teach the thief, among others. (1Pet3:19)

shouldn't these boys be defending the country or going to college rather than off in some no-man's-land trying to convert people that are already fine? why do you insist on pushing your ideas by going door-to-door annoying people? why don't they serve their country instead of you and your church? (don't say they are serving the Lord - they aren't - they are serving you and your church, and it's not the same thing AT ALL).

"TODAY,you will be with me in Paradise".But that same evening Jesus appears to his disciples(Luke 24:39)"Behold my hands and feet that is myself,Hanlde me and See,but that morning he says to Mary"Touch me Not," The only answer is sometime during the day Jesus went to Heaven, and in fulfillment of the type presented the blood upon the mercy seat in heaven.(IPeter)He proclaimed(ekeruzon) to the spirits in prison victory over the cross, and doom for the hearers,Noahs wicked contemporaries. Jesus could have done all this in a twinkling of an eyes. Mormon spouse
