Enjoyed reading. I read the Deseret News in the morning on line to get some up-lifting stories and this is a great story. THank you, Looking forward to the documentary.

I'm thrilled with this story and photos, Lee and Ravell. Thank you for recognizing a great tale of courage, trust and friendships spanning a half-century. I'm privileged to know all of these rescuers personally and am extra fortunate to be married to one of them. Each of these men have accomplished great success in work, as fathers and in giving back to their communities over and over again. This film will give them their due, as well as tell of an amazing outdoor adventure. The documentary is on track, and I hope everyone has a chance to see it.

The tale about the rescue is a great story of an heroic mission. The parallel story about Jenny Wilson raising money for the movie, while she is still in office, causes concern about possible ethics issues.

I can't wait to see this. I'd also recommend Pete Sinclair's book, `We Aspired', really humble and idealistic and impressive. A lot more than a climbing memoir, it has a lot of insight into a bygone era. When it was first published, a lot of these same great and down-to-earth legends gathered at Black Diamond for a publication party, quite an event.

Not everything is negative in the paper today.

Lee, as always a great story/column. I never knew this about Ted Wilson, only having known him through his career as Mayor of SLC and a big proponent after I moved here of supporting local road races. Even in his 40's he was doing speed work at the local track.....and now to read of this.....Ted, and his compatriots.....studs one and all.

The guy they saved on the face.....He should just be GLAD there were people there to save him, rather than be persnickety about HOW they got him down.

Rick Reese is my Uncle and I have always enjoyed hearing about the amazing things he has done and seen in his life. I didn't know this story personally, but am not surprised at what they did. They're all brave men that would drop whatever they were doing to help somebody out.

Working at the Coulter Bay Grill in the summer of 1960, I met Ted Wilson and many others who helped to teach me to climb. Now, we are older men with fond memories and lots of grandchildren.

Thanks for this story. By the way, I am long gone from Utah, but I loved Ted Wilson. Wonderful man.

Former Ted Wilson student

Studied under Ted at the UofU roughly ten years ago and knew he loved climbing in the Tetons but first time to ever here of this story. Amazing story but to be expected from an amazing man. He was an inspiring professor who even opened up his home on one occassion for several of us students.

BTW, the comment about Jenni and a possible conflict of interest, she didn't win her election and is thus not in office.
