Go to BYU. They are accepting walk on's
Why would you talk about redshirting a junior qb when the coach is going with a freshman? I hear Utah State lost a qb and might be interested!
Great athletes at Utah often blossom in unexpected roles. I hope Louks and the coaches find a way to leverage his skill, speed, and athleticism. I'd hate to see the Utes lose such a great weapon.
I would love to see Corbin stay at Utah. He is a threat that should be used. Not in a two quarterback system, but on those plays where you need to break the game open or as a running back or receiver. There are lots of options with his skills.
If he transferred to Utah State, he would have to sit out a year. He could play immediately at Weber State or Southern Utah, but they have quarterbacks they have built their offense around and thus I don't see them as being interested.
This is not too good for Louks. You never know what can happen. Maybe the Utes will need Louks again if Wynn and/or Cain get hurt. Then again, maybe Louks should try for another position. Either way, not too cool for Louks.
just messin with his head. he will be the guy.
I wonder if this is some kind of gamesmanship being played by Whittingham?
Rise & shout!!
Louks could be a Weddle-esqe player on special teams and offense.
No matter what, you have to feel bad for Corbin. He's worked his tail off for the program for the last two years and given us some spectacular plays. It's sad to see things not pan out, but let's also hope that the Utes can use him in a way that makes everyone happy.
Article quote: "SUDDEN IMPACT: Freshman quarterback Griff Robles made quite an impression in his first scrimmage with the Utes. After throwing an interception, the former Spanish Fork star leveled linebacker Thor Salanoa with a hard tackle. So hard, in fact, that Salanoa will be sidelined for 12 weeks with a shoulder injury."
Oops....
Pushed aside by a freshman who 3 months ago was 160lbs.....time to hang it up
You are only in school for four precious years. Go to So. UT or Weber and play ball rather than rot on the bench at the U. no hard feelings, but you have to be loyal to yourself first and Whittingham (who is a great coach) has two guys ahead of you. move on
Corbin Louks is a UINO (Ute in Name Only).
Go down south to Provo, pal!
Try not to show your ignorance about the approach of the Ute coaches. The last place Louks would be is on the bench. He has too many skills and experience for that. If you had been paying attention to what Whit is saying, you would know that there are several options for this fine athlete to play. Please, please, think before you speak such nonsense! Or, as you say, move on!
Come on fellow Utes. Don't just cast ANY player aside. He's a great asset or he would not have been backing up Brian last year. He's a great play-maker. I seem to remember how people wanted Whit's head a few short years ago. Just let this thing play out and support ALL of our players 100%. I hate to make this about TDS but their fans don't call out their players like this. Don't get into Courbs head any more than this situation already is. Go Utes!
Midvale Ute. Corbin should transfer to BYU. We have a far greater need for his speed and athleticism than U.
It usually takes an injury or two for Whittingham to find out who his first string QB is.
Sorry he isn't part of the be pretty good every four years plan now working for the utes.
None of the yewtie QB's could make the team in Provo. Sorry, go elsewhere.
If Corbin wasn't able to secure the starting QB positon in a system he has been in for 2 years, he will have a difficult time winning a QB job at another D-1 school were the system would be totally new. He could play for SUU or another small school, but in my opinion, he would be better served by switching postions and staying at the U.
The coaches have said they would like to keep the set of "Louks" plays and he could find more playing time at either a safety or wide reciever. (Everyone remembers Weddle playing defense, but still get 5 or so plays a game on the offensive side, as well as how TCU used Jeremy Curly this last season) I would like to see him stay at the U, he has a tremendous athleticism that could be used.
