This will ruin one of the most beautiful and most photographed places in Utah. Would the owners be amenable to a purchase to preserve as open space if indeed they are truly concerned about the environment? What a legacy that would leave.
If there was really any environmental conscious involved there would be no development at all. This is pristine land used by wildlife and the public to get out and see their state. Once more city greed is blinding them to the rights of the rest of the state and citizens of america. The land may be in city boundaries but it doesn't give them the right to steal it from the rest of america. Development in our mountains and watershed is the right of all Utahan's to have a say in. This kind of developing affects all of us, not just the city greed and hypocrisy.
As I read the article, the city is trying to protect the area and the property owners want to develop the area. I do not se this as "City Greed". The city is the one preventing the development.
This a land rightfully owned by the owners. They paid money for it and ssay only 3 of the 26 acres will be developed and are mindful of the watershed...so what is the problem? Nature will still bethere nothing will change just a few more houses.... I don't get the buhaha
What happend to private property rights. It seams unfair to say, you own land in the Wasatach Front therefore you can't develop it, but every skier who buys a day pass can use your land. I live in Utah because this state protects my rights including my property. If I pay property taxes shouldn't I be able to put my property to its highest and best use. Why not these guys?
