I support these comments 100%. While adults spend so much of their time thinking of there own selfish desires and needs that they sacrifice the lives of their precious children. Wake up people you're becoming just like the people in the time of Noah raising up generations in iniquity and look what happened to them. I am concerned for our children, are you?

Lets see, in some cities 70% of babies born have no father in the home and according to the FBI, about 70% of violent crime committed in America is committed by younger men who has not father in the home! Coincidence? The largest demographic of people living in poverty in America are single mothers. We don't need strong families, do we? Want to fight crime and poverty? Most of our social problems would disappear if we would just be better fathers and mothers! We are reaping the consequences of our sins in America and the ONLY cure is better, stronger family values!

Which lies, @ridgerunner? That children of single-parent households are at greater risk of a lot of life problems? That single-parent households are more likely to be in poverty?

I won't try to defend his numbers (70%) or his crude attempt at a causal link between the two ("Hey, 70% and 70%! Coincidence?"), but there's no question society would benefit from a greater percentage of stable homes.

Right on! Statistics studied in 'Sociology' as well as in 'Social-Work' prior to my graduating from the U.of U.(2007) confirms these statements. The success and strength of Anything, relies on it's foundation: A sturdy bridge is built on firm -ground with a cement platform vs one built on sand where it may shift/move. How can a nation succeed when it's foundation of families and values is weak & shifting? We must strengthen the family, the 'core' of civilization and not follow the paths of past civilizations destroyed or those nations today already in that path.
If a runner Quit just before going around the bend where the finish line is, he's viewed as a coward/loser. Too weak?
Look at the aftermath of split families and where the security lies in the shattered lives of their "off-spring" not to mention the damage within the lives of all, including parents! Quit? Who needs the excess baggage in the already challenging roads of LIFE!
'Bitter' or 'Better'? The difference is just one letter- that selfish little "I", so preserve the wider spectrum: 1st- family, 2nd- society
'Anything worth having is worth working for', right?
