There's a lot of great cops out there and just a few high-profile incidents like this that can give them all a bad name.
Like that video of the cop who stopped the guy and his family outside a hospital not letting them see their dying family member. Plus, nobody likes getting a traffic ticket.
It's amazing that people can be put on the sex offender list for something as simple as urinating in public, and yet a cop who is entrusted with authority and power gets basically nothing for this type of act.
No brothers in blue here defending him, accusing us of not being properly obedient? and telling the rest of us that we treat them all horribly? Or how about one, just one admitting that cops like this are why people have a problem with the police.
If cops want respect they have to be able to point out the problems in their own ranks and work to get rid of the cops like this one. They wont and we will continue to hear how bad we treat them whenever something bad or questionable happens with another cop. Once that happens the cops just pretend things like this don't happen and we are wrong for thinking some of them are power hungry egomaniacs who carry a badge a gun for the power they feel and not for trying to protect and serve.
Next time you boys in blue and your spouses see our angry comments about how some of you act think back to this cop, and the others you know like them. You wont report them, we all know it. It takes a brave civilian to end things like this, not duplicitous cops.
