Denial Won't Change Tragedy | 2:18 a.m. Aug. 11, 2009
This is by far the most horrendous story to have read and heard about it on Nancy Grace the last few days. Apparently it was reported that the husband had a revoked license for DWI, and under investigation. His denial about his wife's condition found at the time of the accident will not change what happened. Whether it was alcohol, drug related or marijuana it is still a tragic event. There had to be abuse of some of those substances for the woman's blood alcohol to be double the legal limit to drive. The facts stand alone and there is no one who can tell us what really happened now that the mother and children are dead. The innocent lives taken are the tragedy. Life is fragile and must be handled with care. The husband has lost his wife and children, and those three in the other vehicle were killed too. Such a nightmare. Perhaps the investigation will reveal what really happened. I have compassion for the relatives of everyone involved, including for the woman's husband and father of their children.

In an effort to keep journalists on the up-and-up, may I suggest that the "facts" seen reported elsewhere indicate that the vodka bottle was found near the crash site. Not in her vehicle.

The correct title for this story should be "Mom in deadly crash may have hidden her addiction."

Actually, it WAS found in her vehicle, and in fact, her husband has already admitted to loading it in the car for the camping trip.
Where are you getting YOUR info?
Go to any reputable news source on-line, punch in her name, and voila...facts aplenty.

Who says pot is dangerous?

If mom wasn't an alcoholic, then the only way that vodka could have gotten into her stomache would be if someone hid it in her morning beverage. The pot could have also been unknowingly ingested. Who would jeaopardize her life and the lives of the children in such a way? Either she was an alcoholic or she was poisoned without her knowledge. Which is it?

She done "hid" her addiction?
And who-all did she "hid" it from?

Even if she voluntarily drank the vodka, that does not necessarily mean she is an alcoholic. Not all drinkers are alcoholics - even if they drink enough to impair their reasoning.

The other theory being floated is that she was a binge drinker.

I've done some work with court ordered volunteers. I don't know how they were in the rest of their lives, but I can say that many of the people with DUIs were interested in working hard and putting this behind them.

However, there were also the people with DUIs who made an appointment to come in then had to cancel it for an unexpected emergency. They rescheduled only to cancel again for another "emergency." They were either the unluckiest people who ever lived or they couldn't stay sober even to work off their DUIs - and they couldn't admit to us or themselves that they had a problem.

"court ordered volunteers". I love it.

You, Madam, are so far out in left field, it's a hoot.
There was "pure, undigested vodka", according to the coroner's report, in her stomach.
That means it wasn't masked or hidden. You could possibly hide maybe a shot or two, but not enough for 10 drinks.
And if you DID hide it in her "morning beverage"...just how big WAS that beverage, 2 gallons?
And just how do you unknowingly ingest pot?

Your questions are inane.
