Great Story | 7:32 a.m. Aug. 11, 2009
We were in Yellowstone at that time. I was nine years old. A few days after my dad drove up to Quake Lake and we took movie pictures of the damage. It was incredible.

Where was the "Lord's protection" for all the people who were killed? I too was in West Yellowstone during that earthquake. I personally don't think the Lord had anything to do with it.
Superstitious Nonsense | 12:00 p.m. Aug. 11, 2009
So God saves LDS families who pray? What about all the non LDS heathens who also survived (I'm one)? Why did the LDS members who were killed in the earthquake die? Did they forget to say their prayers before bedtime? This is such superstitious nonsense.

It really doesn't matter what denomination we are. God watches over all of us. Those of you who's lives were spared can now look at what you have accomplished since that day, and thank the Lord for what you have. Those who were lost had finished their time on this earth. Wonderful story JoAnn.

I am getting a little tired of people speaking for me telling people what I am thinking and why I do things .. who do you think you are BTW ?

As often times as not it is the most wicked that survive tragedy.

The Lord allows bad things to happen to good people just as much as he allows good things to happen to bad people. Earthquakes happen around the world as do other natural disasters. Still if one is in direct line and is praying and survives who says it wasn't do to their prayers. The other is that some of those who died may have also been saying their prayers. The thing we forget is THY WILL BE DONE not ours. Sometimes it is just that. Everything we have or own comes from GOD. Nothing one does is because we did it alone. Unfortunately, too many people in this world have forgotten that. There will come a time that each of us will stand before the Lord to be judged and we will have our lives before us. When the judgement is made we will know without a doubt that it is a fair and just judgement. The Earth was created for us to live here and to learn. Hopefully we learned more than what is in this life for ME. It should be what can I do for others.

Let people have there faith. No one knows for sure. She didn't say only lds people would be saved. They just felt protected. God has a plan for all of us.

Bill,

Blah, Blah, Blah... the same old nonsense trying to preserve people's faith in a god who you yourself describe as no different than arbitrary chance.

Whatever.

and people still buried there
people of faith
families cut short
I read many articles, books
Our family had a cabin at Island Park
I was but a wee child...

but for those in that valley that night
lives where cut short families divided
a wonderful August night
changing every one... and every thing...

I Know not why... but
"God's got some 'splainin' to do -- I truly believe one day we will know reasons why
I am making my LIST!!

I am not a very religious person, but one thing I do believe is that if it makes someone feel better to pray then the best to them, I find myself praying at the poker tables, sometimes I win sometimes I loose, but it does help to pass the stress.
