Um, what is the purpose of this? Did they have a cause to promote or were they just trying to be different?

The cause and purpose was to raise Zombie awareness. Zombies have been forced to remain in hiding for too long. We wanted to demonstrate that Zombies can gather and roam the streets peacefully just like any other group; we're all human... or at least, used to be.

Isn't Halloween enough for these people? I wonder if the folks visiting the graves of their loved ones appreciated the display? I couldn't care less about their need to be noticed but they shouldn't start at the cemetary on a Sunday. Show some respect next time. Besides, zombies don't come out in the day. The zombies did the same thing in San Diego two weeks ago in conjunction with ComicCon. But, they did it at night and they did it downtown.

No, It's ACORN | 11:04 a.m. Aug. 10, 2009
Looks like the ACORN crowd... or better yet, wounded citizens trying to get OBAMACARE... They're wandering the streets.... unable to get through the government bureaucracy of getting the Obama health care panel to approve stitching their wounds.

@geedub - 1.Yes, this has nothing to do with Halloween. 2. I'm sure they aren't as uptight as you, and could see that it was just people having fun. 3. Cemeteries are where the dead are buried and according to most religions Sunday is the day of resurrection (rising of the dead). 4. You show some respect before speaking for other people and complaining about things that you know nothing about. 5. Zombies do come out in the day, you're thinking about vampires. 6. They did it at night because during the day everyone was at comic-con, and actually this isn't done only in San Diego during Comic-con.If you look it up you will see that there are actually quite a few cities that do this annually. Furthermore, if you bothered to pay attention you would have noticed this is the second annual zombie walk in SLC. Clearly the point of the whole thing is just to have fun.

How cool... when times are rough, money is tight, and things can be stressful, it is good to see people getting together to just have fun and clear their minds from all of lives worries. The were not harming anyone, they were not drinking and driving, they were not vandalizing anything. They were having a good time. All you people that are so uptight that you can't even handle this, our world would be far better without you. I guess some people are just born to hate the world and complain, complain, complain!

Get over yourself.

Is this a UTAH thing? I have never heard of it before. I would have thought there is more to do in Utah. However, it didn't hurt anyone, didn't cost anything, didn't protest anything (which in itself is VERY refreshing), did give people excercise (those walking), and was entertaining (to those who watched, appaently). Although I would have found something else to do on a Sunday afternoon....like take a nap, I guess that it was a good thing....

No. Utah sees a major earthquake every 350 years. Last one? 350 years ago.
