I love fall because the leaves turn such beautiful colors everywhere. Also because it's time to hunker down and get everything prepared for winter, ready to snuggle in warm quilts, drink hot chocolate, watch the snow.

Although fall may bring a dread of winter to some, it is my favorite time of the year. It seems to be a benediction to the heat of summer, teasing us with the introspetive joys that winter brings. Although I am now old, each fall reminds me of the excitement of learning, of the thrill of a new school year. What pleasant, nostalgic feelings surface every fall. I hope this one lasts for several weeks.

I'm not quite ready to let go of the leafy green. It seems to brush by so quickly now. But I know, if there were no winter, the joy of the first crocus and daffodil would be lessened.

It's time to revel in Fall! Football, cooler weather, Football, leaves changing color, football, green grass instead of brown, football. I think you get the picture. I grew up in California where we don't have fall or winter. To me, fall and winter are special treasures. Keep that lamp close by and hope you enjoy your fall this year.
