So we read a whole article on how he is playing a lot of golf and then at the very end he says he is more focused on football then he has ever been in his life??? Some how I am not making the connection here.
where's the football news...
Sounds like he should give up football and concentrate on golf and he might have more success!!
I wonder if he pelts his opponents in the chest the same way he throws interceptions to opponents...
Krueger's open.
I've never seen a place like this, where anything that is written about BYU football is IMMEDIATELY jumped on by BYU critics, or the redboys themselves. Give it a rest, already! Get a life!
I believe the point of the article was: even though Max Hall was trying to play golf, the importance of the upcoming season, and more immediately, the upcoming game with OK, would not allow him to concentrate on golfing. For those who may need a bit of help, that means Max feels the upcoming game is very important, as the article mentions that he has attended all practices and worked hard to prepare for the football season.
I hope he does better this year than last. Only he knows why last year did not live up to his expectations, and it won't help to keep saying he "failed", or that he is no good, etc., though I know some of you are deliberately trying to discourage him and BYU fans because you are afraid this coming year will be a good one. I tire of your drivel.
Good luck, Max, and BYU. Good luck to Utah also, except for one game.

It's called Little Brother Syndrome. They troll for any BYU post and try to say something negative to make them feel better. You know, trying to take down big brother at any opportunity.
Enjoyed the article. Can't wait for the season. Ignore the trolls.
I love that Harmon personalizes so many BYU athletes for us. You can call it fluff but fans love to know more about their teams than just stats on the field. As do most BYU fans, I also enjoy the Ute's success (except against BYU) and honestly wouldn't mind learning more about some of their top athletes on a personal level like Harmon provides. They also have some very quality kids who do great things on and off the field.
Max is a not only a great football player he is a great golfer.
It's ironic that Max put his "clubs" away, because now he is just 3 weeks away from getting the "clubbing" of his life!
LOL!! You have to admit that was pretty funny!
Yewts, give Max Hall a break! Did you even read the article! The guy busts his butt from 6:00 AM until 1:30 PM on football prep every day, then plays golf to relax. What in the world could possibly be wrong with that? Don't waste your energy worrying about Max Hall's off-hours golf play. Instead be worried about November 28 at LE Stadium. Be very worried.
Every slam against the cougs is another verification that the Ute inferiority complex is alive and well.
Granted, I'm a frustrated "never was" who if, and I realize I don't, but IF I had Max Hall's opportunity (i.e, starting QB at BYU) who is slated to play on national TV against the Oklahoma Sooners, I would LIVE and BREATHE football.
I would save all those rounds of golf when I was done w/ the game.
but, again, that is me..
Good luck Max! Go Cougars!!
Ernest, I usually think your comments are mostly lame, but that WAS funny. Sadly, I totally agree with you and I am a true blue Cougar fan. By the way, are you a Cougar fan, alum, Ute, other, or what?
That one was good. Just like the ones I read from Laffy Taffy wrappers every so often.
TWO OUT OF THE LAST THREE, MAX SHOULD FEEL GOOD THAT EVEN IN A DOWN TIME, THE COUGARS ARE STILL TWO OUT OF THE LAST THREE AGAINST THOSE LITTLE RICH KIDS IN SALT LAKE. NOW WATCH OUT, CUZ I THINK WE'RE GONNA KICK THE HOLY DOG OUT UH YA
Hey Max. The good news is that you can still play golf when you're a geezer like me. The bad news is you can only play football when you're young. (unless you're bonkers) Here's hoping for a great senior year. Stay healthy!
ETB is a Cougar fan. He just likes to ruffle the feathers every now and then. I liked his Grinch comment regarding McKay's smile. That was clever!
I wonder what the equivalent of 5 int. is for golf? I am sure Hall would know. Hall need to step up for once in his life and be a leader. Golf? I don't think so. Remember, BYU was destroyed by both TCU and UTAH. Hall needs to focus for once.
