Pretty good game. Real heady goal kick by Rimando leading Findley to the goal.
Mathis didn't look to happy to be taken out of the game, but I agree with the decision. He was toeing that line of getting a second yellow. Although, I LOVE how hard he's been playing this season.
This was one of the first games I thought Espindola looked very sharp. I've been fairly critical of him in previous posts, but not today.
Glad we got the three points. We need to start doing that on the road, if we want an honest shot at the playoffs.
Since Seattle has been shutout to the total tune of 8-0, in their last two matches, I had hoped RSL would put up at least 2 goals on em, but we'll take it!
TAKE THAT!!!!
RSL is my 2nd favorite team in the world. Fun to watch.
YNWA
Yeah, that breakaway goal was sweet stuff!
So much for a definite win at salt lake's expense!! What a play from Rimando all the way to findley
Anyone catch the attendance of that game?
Somewhere around there. Great game. Go utes.
14,193 according to ESPN box score.
The one goal they did get was a bit lucky and a tough shot, they did miss 3 or 4 much easier/open shots that they should have made. RSL did vastly outplay them, they just need to learn how to finish so they don't cut it so close or settle for the tie. Here is hoping they can make the playoffs again this year!
They said 14,000.
Also Mathis. really? He's so lazy. Constantly out of position and misses in front of an empty goal. He's had two good games this season and has looked like an old man the rest. He would be a great sub coming in in the 65-75 minute to lift the team, just too slow the rest of the time.
These two should have been pulled at half. Al least Espindola was working hard.
Especially the second half Fabi ran his tail off. Terrific finish by Robbie, Feels good to get those 3 points. Keep it up boys!
A win is a win is a win. Let's take down Houston next week. We SHOULD have beaten them on the road when we played them last but we gave up a silly goal late to settle for the tie.
Let's get revenge next week, and continue to push for the playoffs.
Yeah Mathis missed an empty net, but you try to volley a shot at that angle. Great work just to get at that ball.
You guys are nuts. Mathis had a great work effort last night. What were you watching? He was attacking every guy with the ball.
Unlucky strike on the volley, but it happens.
Tony Beltran was my man of the match. Seattle was obviously coming down on his side. He played great defense against some of their best players. He's getting better with each match.
The man of the match was definitley olave did you see how he handled the seattles offense all night pushing them around he played the best out of anybody and plus all the hustle that findley put out he deserved that goal.
I agree. You guys are nuts. Mathis has been one of the most consistent players this year. And all though he does not have the speed of a young man, he still has the touch and intelligence of a star.
Mathis has been great all season. He was in danger of getting a red, so pulling him was a good idea. But he's been fantastic all year.
Will's comment, "We want to be hard to play against at home, we don't want to give away anything easy, we don't want to be soft. We want to be a hard team to play against and tonight we did that." needs to translate onto the field away from Rio Tinto as well. Let's not be just a strong home team, let's be consistently strong where ever we play.
