One important aspect left out of president Clark's comments concerning the establishing of Zion is the need to live the Celestial Order or the United Order. You cannot establish Zion without the principle of equality as enshrined in the United Order and brought about by the observation of the law of Consecration.

The scriptures state

And are not united according to the union required by the law of the Celestial Kingdom; and Zion cannot be built up unless it is by the principles of the Law of the Celestial Kingdom; otherwise I cannot receive her unto myself. D&C 105:4-5. (See D&C 104)

President Wilford Woodruff stated: “For Zion can only be built up by the Law the God revealed for that purpose which is the Law of Consecration-not the law of tithing.”

He further said: “Jesus will never receive the Zion of God unless its people are united according to Celestial Law, for all who go into the presence of God; have to go there by this Law.” (Journal of Discourses vol. 17 pages 250)

We can however prepare to establish Zion by being the pure in heart and developing Christlike attributes
