Good to see the Utes shoring up the one blatant weakness of last season. Go Utes!
The Utes can't feel very confident right now. They don't have a quarterback, they are weak at defense and the wide-receiver position. Can't wait until we get to spank you down here in Provo this year!!
would have started on any team in the nation last year but due to great competition, they didn't get to play as much. Both are tall, extremely athletic receivers. Not to worry. The Utes don't need a great offense to spank the crY, we simply have to stop them. Defense wins championships. Our defense will score points every game and will keep us in it. When our offense puts up 18-25 points, it will be enough to win. At some point, the offense will start clicking. By the end of the season, there won't be any glaring holes in our offense. Utah's speed again will show the "Y" the glaring holes.
I imagine fielding punts has got to be the single most difficult job in football.
"True Blue BYU Fan" is more than likely a Ute fan trying to make BYU fans look bad, because the recievers and defense are probably Utah's greatest strengths coming back. David Reed and Aiona Key are already proven playmakers... When was the last time Utah lacked recievers or running backs, I'd like to know.
Obviously you have no idea what you are talking about. How are we weak at defense? We will be one of the best in the nation AGAIN. How about BYU's defense? I have seen high school football teams defenses better. What about BYU's WR depth? They have a decent TE and that is it! Utah will have the best WRs in the conference bar none! Dude, you better check out your own team's weakness before even attempting to check out the U's. BYU has ALOT of holes to fill. Try the whole defense again!
Obviously YOU have no idea what you're talking about. Utah's defense will be really good again, probably the best in the conference but it won't be as good as last year, and your offense takes a huge drop off. Even as good as your offense was last year, even you, like any team, struggled hard against good defenses. This year it won't be as good. BYU on the other hand will be better than last year. Try a good QB, a good TE, a running back who has posted 100 yards rushing against you 2 years in a row, and a very solid core of receivers who haven't started but have all shown what they can do in games. Our offense will be one of the best in the nation, AGAIN. Our defense will also be good. They won't be Utah's defense but they will the best in the conference after Utah and TCU. Utah will be a good team, but BYU will be better.
your defense good, are you kidding me 48 points given up against us and probably in the 50's against oklahoma, why your at it, reference the national championship where you beat a 6-5 team. your a joke
Anyone who questions Utah's defense is a moron- almost the entire defense is returning- except the 3 that were drafted into the NFL- including McCain, who in my opinion was the weak link in last years defense-
Sorry for bursting your bubble cougarette- GO UTES!
Oh and by the way- Utah was the only team in the nation last year that had 2 cornerbacks drafted-
You are all missing one key point. Utah may be finding the QB. But YBU is replacing 4 guys on an already slow line that could not protect max last yeaR. I would rather be in Utahs situation proven O line, than YBU QB who panics under pressure trying to find 4 guys to help him out. Good luck. Advantage, UTAH!!!!!!
Step aside, Yewts. You had everything going your way last year, and we STILL had you against the rails in the 3rd quarter.
You've had your once-every-four-year run at that big leagues, but we will show what you a consistent champion looks like. There is not a team in the MWC who doesn't consider playing us the highlight of their season, and with good reason: BYU show them what real college foot ball is about, year in and year out.
BYU is this year's conference champion (again!) and BCS buster, you can mark my words!
Re: 1:59
I LOLed. And it wasn't with you.

BCS Busters?!? Ha, you are delusional. BYU will most likely lose two of their first 3 games (against Oklahoma and FSU).
Granted, BYU has a legit shot at the MWC conference championship, but they will not be even close to a BCS bowl. BYU should consider it as a successful season if they end up going 10-3.
Same threats as last year...we'll likely see the same hollow results.
Football consists of 4 "quarters" not 3 but, you are right it was the 4th quarter that we ran up 24 points on you wasn't it...Ouch!!!
You're right most teams in the conference's highlight is playing you but, its not for the reasons you referenced. Probably more so for the same reasons TCU, U of A, and Utah loved playing you last year...it was an easy blowout. You still believe "real college football" is played in the bubble...hmmmm that's not what the nation believes.
I wet myself laughing when you guaranteed a BCS appearance this year...I know, I know the buzz in the UC is that BYU could be the first non-bcs one loss team allowed in...Sure right, keep dreaming.
All I have to say is go Poog's.... enjoy your dreams!!!
hahahahaha--we are still laughing at you LOSERS!!!
BYU is the best team in the state and always has been (even last year). The Yewts got lucky in RES. Now that krewgar is gone you guys are going to be lost on D. The Y has Max Hall (nuff said). We will be the national champions, hands down, nuff said. The rest of the teams in the nation should not even play this year becuase bYu is the BEST! Oh my fetchin gosh I have to go do my home teaching now.
The race for the championship is wide open, every team has some unknown. So for all those Y fans that love to point out the "drop off" on O that will happen this year for the Utes I would remind you that BYU has 4 new O linemen. So when the Y can not move the ball because Max is on his back the Utes will be averaging 450 yards a game as we return to a true spread.
Utah fans are so overconfident. They bag on Max Hall when he's been a starter for 2 years and they don't even have a QB figured out. Max Hall has 21 D-1 wins under his belt as a starter. How many D-1 wins has your quarterback won? Oh yeah, 0.
Who cares?
In your opinion Brice McCain was the weak link on the Utah secondary? Let me guess, you base that on the '07 4th-and-18?
Let's just say your "opinion" carries a little less weight than the fact that he made it to the NFL. One of the greatest corners in Utah history, a weak link? Give me a freakin break.
im a utes fan and brice continually got beat every dwon and was small. mark my words cougar fan, get used to the three new guys on defense becuase they'll be all over maxy hall and get ready to hear the name conroy black, will have an interception against you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'
and bcs busters, wow your loosing to okie for sure and maybe fl st. and possibly to utah tcu and air force
