Rescue team saves group of boaters on Utah Lake

Eight people in an open boat in calm weather, no problem. Eight people in a boat in windy conditions, death by drowning and loss of boat.
Life jackets, cell phone (before it got wet) and quality rescue boat and skilled rescuers saved their lives. The rescued boaters should send a thank you note every August 7 to their rescuers.

That is exactly what Utah Lake is--a shallow, shallow lake where lots of wind can come up at any time, and in any weather.
The result, boats immediately take on water extremely fast. It's not a normal deep lake, even tho it appears as though it is one. It doesn't even look dangerous, but it is soooo dangerous--especially for so many not familiar with the lake who boat there.
I'm so grateful these unsuspecting boaters and kids are safe. They are so, so lucky. Just think how many others have died doing the exact same thing.
Is there anyone who is NOT familiar with a story about someone dying on that lake? I doubt it. Very dangerous. Unsuspecting people die all the time out there.
