Nice!

Anything that ticks off G. Ruzicka is FINE by me.
Lord knows she tries to steamroll everybody with her whacky agenda.

Payback here.

Way to go Gov H.!

KR

LOL - Herbert didn't let Gayle and the UT Eagle Forum tell him what to do! Good for him!

SPK

No surprize here. Why bother putting any real thought into this selection.

Mike

Fantastic, Lt. Gov H.!!!!

Anything that makes Gayle Ruzicka angry is fine by me!

She has done her share of pushing her own agenda. Nice to see them not cave in.

Good nomination!

To SPK

Go have lunch with Gayle.

Jacen Brewer

I drove past the old home on Jackson Avenue last week and took what I call my heritage tour from the Golden Spike Arena to Smith n' Edwards - Uncle George and Grandma and Grandpa wouldn't be more proud I'm sure - and they'd have every reason to feel that way.

To say you're qualified Greg would be an understatement.

To SPK.

You are correct. Lt. Gov. Herbert put very little thought into his choice.

10 seconds after he heard Gayle Ruzicka command him to NOT appoint Greg Bell, he said "I choose Greg Bell."

Props to Lt. Gov. Herbert!!!

SE

Seems like a reasonable guy with a wide range of views, some I like and some I don't care for. But that's fine. I'll take an honest person with integrity from any party over a thoughtless stooge who always votes the 'party line'.

Good Choice

Greg Bell is a good guy, and Utah should be better off with his service. Hopefully he can straighton some things out.

Outstanding Man

Great man for the job. I know Greg personally and know him to be one of the most honorable men around. I would trust him in any public capacity given. Congratulations to all, this state will be very well served by this outstanding man.

Gayle is fuming!

She tried an e-mail campaign, phone tree campaign, and it all fell on deaf ears. My heartfelt thanks to Lt. Gov. Herbert for doing the right thing and not bending to the overbearing know-it-all moral mufflehead.
I wish I could have been there to see her face when she heard the news!

Go get a real job, Ms. Ruzicka, and I don't mean at the equally obnoxious Sutherland Inst.

The Republican Party in Utah has a bright future with leaders like Greg Bell.

From CA

Why can't California govern itself like Utah? I seldom meet Utahans who have the slightest clue how well Utah government works for its citizens. It is consistently ranked by independent third parties as one of the best managed states in the nation. It is clear Bell has been a major part of that responsible government. Now if we could only get him appointed as LT. Gov. in CA?

Good man, good choice

He's not a homophobic, snarling terrorist, so the Eagle Forum doesn't like him.

Best wishes, Mr. Bell.
Al

Wisdom and Clarity

Soon-to-be Governor Herbert made his choice of Greg Bell with wisdom and clarity. I salute him for this excellent decision. I consider Greg Bell to be a man of honesty, reason and integrity. One of the most outstanding qualities of Greg is his very sincere humility. He has a great ability to give credit to everyone but himself. He will serve this state with honor and accountability.

I respect Herbert's decision immensely. I consider myself a conservative Republican and am often saddened at the Eagle Forum's mis-guided interference in political matters that continually creates contention and discord. They consider themselves pure Constitutionalists. I hope they will look more carefully at our Constitution that promotes reason, unity and objectivity. Greg Bell is a sterling example of those patriotic qualities.
I salute Herbert for his vision and ability to ignore the tactics of the Eagle Forum that all too often prove to be counter-productive.

anyone that would endorse

anyone that would endorse Kevin Fayles for West Valley City Mayor has got my vote for Lt. Gov.

Great Choice

I've worked closely with Greg and don't think Herbert could have made a better choice. He's thoughtful, honest, hardworking, and always does what he feels is right for the state and his constituents, not himself or the party. Utah will benefit from his service. Good luck Greg!

George Garwood

A very good choice for all of UTAH. Greg served as the Mayor of Farmington some years ago and I believe he understands the problems of local goverment very well. I look forward to working with him in the coming year and wish him well.

To Joel

Sorry Sir. After the last 8 years, the republican party does NOT have a bright future. Maybe in this last, stubborn, narrow-minded state it might.
But overall, hitching your wagon to the GOP is a proven recipe for disaster.
Your party has ruined us financially, and made us the laughing stock of the world.
The GOP is a faceless, lifeless, writhing blob, with no direction, no leadership, no respect, no reason to continue as it was.
Eileen

Good

Don't know much about Bell, but if the Chicken Forum doesn't like him, he must be a good, honest man. Way to go, Herbert!
