next years nba draft lottery since utah may just have not only 1 but 2 top 10 picks. loozer is obviously not going anywhere since the jazz front office seems to just sit around and not want to trade him at all. they're said publicly that they're going in a different direction than staying with loozer and yet are reluctant to trade and get at least some value.
What really is happening - Miami offered Haslem to Utah, Wright and 2 million to Memphis and Utah would have sent Boozer to Miami. This would have saved the Jazz 10 million in salary. This deal can still be had - The similar deal with NY where the Jazz send Boozer to NYC for Mobley and 3 million in cash the Jazz could still work out. This would save the Jazz about 16 million.
KOC has said that they are looking at making their team better - meaning they are not trying to do a salary dump without getting a good player in return.
The Chicago, Utah and Portland deal is the one that KOC would have loved to done. But Portland did not want to have to include Bayless and Chicago did not want to do the deal without Bayless
No team wants to give up anything for a player who is a unrestricted free agent. The Jazz do not want to give up a 2 time all star without getting something in return.
Boozer needs to say publicly - I am healthy, willing to play for any team the Jazz trade me to and want to sign an extension.
To bad for Loozer. Nobody wants him. His big mouth and all talk and no action personality has caught up to him.
I remember Loozer saying how great Pat Riley is it must be a one sided relationship. Riley doesn't care for Loozer.
I hope he is not the only GM who feels this way and Boozer ends up essentially talking himself out of playing for ANY nba team...
I guess now Boozer is realizing that nobody wants a cancer on their team.
He'll nutt-it-up because he doesn't want to come across poorly into a free-agency and the Jazz don't have to worry about what he thinks long-term, it will allow his capacity for 40 games to last the whole year and they can 'thank' him for his jerking everyone around.
obviously you can't take a half a year off and expect to be taken seriously by any NBA team.
coach K had Boozers number in the olympics and didn't hardly play him.
I guess at least Karl could back up his stupid rumblings.
Hopefully Millsap beats his lazy butt out and he can come off the bench and fight for a contract next year some where.
Either he or AK are going to have to nut up if the Jazz are going to make the playoffs.
woo-hoo the jazz trade their own lottery pick for Kyle Korver. The Jazz only have one pick this year
I wonder if he realizes, since everything he does is selfish, that he better show up and play his keister off this season. Otherwise, wherever he plays the following season, he will be getting a puny contract to match his puny commitment and effort. The bloom is off the rose and everybody can see it.
I like the idea of having Boozer back up Milsap. Since he is obviously not going to be traded, it will give him some incentive to play harder because he is in a contract year. Look for poor Carlos to get a nice 3-year deal next year at about $7.5 mil per year after he misses 25 games with leg ailments. Great money for the rest of us, but about right in the NBA.
Bring back Malone!!!!!!!!!
This whole thing might actaully be good for the Jazz this year. No matter where Boozer plays this year, he is going to go all out to show his worth to the entire league, so he can get the biggest contract possible next year. This means if the Jazz have to keep him, they could go with Boozer at the 4 and Milsap at the 3, and bring AK47 of the bench. This would give the Jazz a line up that could compete with any team in the league. At least for this season.
Actually the piok the Jazz traded for Korver is protected. If they are in the lottery they keep the pick. If they make it to the playoffs the Sixers get the pick.
Unforturnately Boozer will still get a long term contract because he can put up stats. I hope that it is south of 8million per year. Than he'll be on food stamps like the rest of us.
Hahahaha...no one wants you Carlos! Don't worry we will just hold our nose and watch you actually have to earn your money from us this year (contract year).
What a joke you've become in the NBA, Booz-face!
...."misquoted and misunderstood". Yes Mr. Boozer you sure are.
The problem is...he is the source of it!!!
What this guy really is, is a duplicitous, self-serving, ungrateful liar.
He will literally say anything to get what he wants and all he wants is a big fat extension from somebody...anybody.
The problem for boozer is that all his self-serving behavior is now a matter of public record and everyone can see the leopards spots...so to speak.
I believe O'Conner actually has a few trades he can pull off but is just sitting/waiting to see if he can get something better. What is the harm? They don't even show up for camp for almost 2 months.
People often forget that a self-serving player who is motivated by money will likely play hard next season. Not to mention that his expiring contract off our books would be huge next year.
Both aspects are valuable. People act like trading him for garbage is a solution--NOT!
I for one would not be surprised to see Boozer in camp.
Fortunately, the Jazz management never let players dictate the direction of the teams actions.
Its going to be tough getting rid of him. Jazz is going to have to pay the millions in luxary tax this year....
Miami LOVES Beasley no way they will trade their future for a one year & (possibily) out player....
Love it......I want Boozer in a Jazz uniform next year. His expiring contract is worth the 12 million the jazz will pay him next year. I would let him rot on the end of the bench and play AK at the 4 where he belongs. Let Boozer play backup center giving Koufus another year to mature. Kevin would be crazy to trade Carlos.
The pick they traded for Korver is lottery protected next year and the year after that, so if they do somehow miss the playoffs (which I wouldn't be all that opposed to if it meant two lottery picks) they would keep both picks.
the problem with Booz is he is narcissistic....he only thinks of himself.....he has no character and is basically dishonest!
You don't accept a contract from one party then runaround telling everyone your unhappy and want a trade?
Booz made the mistake of not opting out, which she should have done if he were any kind of man!
What a real man would have done when he opted in, was tell the Jazz that he was excited to be here and that he was going to work harder than ever to get a ring........sunny beaches and tax incentives just dont cut it with me......Riley doesn't trust Booz, and frnakly neither does the rest of America.
Booz? You need a reality check....the only way your going to earn respect and trust, is to keep your dumb mouth shut and play like your life depends on it....because frankly, now more than ever ...it does! Get off the beach and get in the gym.....or you can say hello to Starbury and Iverson!
I am growing weary of the continual discussions about Mr. Boozer. He has made it very clear that he no longer wants to play for the Jazz. I have always been a Boozer fan but because of all of this garbage lately, I give up. He is totally brown-nosing the citizens of Chicago and Miami so that he can get out of UT. I think that the is just concerned that his toe-tapping hijinks will be made public and everyone will know that he is a namyag. He sickens me.
