Surfing is a highly spiritual activity, more so I daresay than sitting in religion class.

Priest at eighteen years old? That is too young. We are still only begining seekers at that age.

Tough decisions | 8:31 a.m. Aug. 5, 2009
I use to surf Huntington beach and all over So. Ca.,but when I was 19, I traded my surf board for M-16 rifle and went to Vietnam. I went from beuatiful coastlines to the strange and scary. His decision is no biggy.

A teacher who knows | 2:01 p.m. Aug. 12, 2009
To a young 16 yr old who is passionate about surfing, giving it up is a "biggy". This choice is a 'work of faith', not some whimsical choice to draw attention to himself. There is very little incentive except that which is seen with the eye of faith. Those who struggle to see the logic has instinctively expressed their lack of faith.

It is the choice that hundreds of young people dont make while hundreds of others do, and who's future both here and hereafter will be benefited as a result. Thank you for your example of faith.
