You've got to love Conan O'Brien. The guy's super hot right now. He really knows how to connect with his audience, is really funny, and has the perfect comedic timing to go along with that perfectly coifed hair of his.
Conan is terrible, I watched the first week to give him a chance and have not watched since. NBC realized they screwed up by replacing Leno that is why is back next month.
There is something seriously wrong with the younger generation that thinks Conan is remotely funny. I am in my mid fifties so I am not THAT old, but when my married sons came home for the weekend and turned on Conan one night, it was pure torture for my husband and me. We sat there kind of stunned that anyone could find any humor in anything he says or does. It was totally boring, rude, and stupid. Didn't even crack a smile.
Conan is awesome. But I understand he is not for everyone. Comedy is NOT "one size fits all." People are just set in their ways with Leno. I used to be a fan of Letterman until he couldn't find any new jokes so he said the same ones with the same punchline 3 nights in a row. He's got this un-funny awkwardness to him. Conan has got imagination that makes him great. Long live Late Night with Conan O'brien
J. T., if Conan's "super hot" why is he getting buried by Letterman? Lukewarm might be more accurate.
Conan has been terrible from day one can't believe he is still around.
Besides he needs a new hairdo
I've tried to watch Conan over the years, I don't enjoy his brand of humor. He is childish in his approach and delivery. I couldn't believe it when I found out they were giving him the job. My wife and I have totally switched to Letterman.
I'm 37.
I think a reason Conan is getting plowed by Letterman is because Letterman resonates more with the older generation that still sits down and watches a lot of TV. As far as young demographic ratings go, I know that for myself and most of my young 20 something friends who enjoy Conan's style, we usually watch TV shows using websites like hulu.com. Watching TV for free on the internet is far superior to paying 100 dollars a month on our fledgling budgets. So this could explain the surprising fact that Letterman is matching Conan's youth ratings.
You've got it all wrong! The only person worth watching at ALL on late night is Craig Ferguson. Intelligent, never condescending, and VERY funny. If you want to see unscripted interviews, actually interesting guests, a few crazy moments, and some incredible off-the-cuff comedy, then Craig's the only one you need to watch.
He is almost always going off-script, talking to the camera as though we were right there with him, and I have never sat through an entire show without laughing out loud.
Some nights I am wincing at the lack of humor, talent, etc. on Conan, Letterman, Leno, Kimmel, Stewart, blah blah blah.
Long live the REAL king of Scotland, CRRRaig FeRRRguson!
I love Conan. And I'm not in the 'young' crowd. I have grandchildren. I'll take him over that Letterman jerk anytime.
I read a couple years ago that some 96 million Americans had not read a book in the year preceding the survey.
Hmmmm.
I gave Conan a month. He's not funny. Period.
My bad. After posting my earlier comment I read this "the more common form in formal English is champ at the bit". Mr. Pierce I commend you on your knowledge of the English language.
Conan is hilarious and creative. I miss Jay, but I love Conan!
Chomping at the bit?
is that I miss Johnny Carson and Ed McMahon. Now they were funny.
I've been a huge Letterman fan over the years, but he is starting to be a bitter obnoxious old man. But, he is still a much better stand up comedian than Conan. While Dave is becoming mean spirited...Leno is not. I have actually missed Jay. But even though I'm 56...I long for the days of the great one, Mr. Johnny Carson.
Lenno was the only reason I watched CBS at all!
Letterman is a waste, so is Conan. Has anyone heard of a good book, lately?
i don't think Conan is right in the head.
my dog is better than he is ...a doxie
