let him starve, then his judgement will come swifter

STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES

Holy cow, why are tax dollars going to FORCE feeding a guy that clearly is bent on killing himself? What the blazes is the point? Just to "be in control?" Get over yourselves, prison managers, and let the guy die if he choses not to eat. Sick.

Reason

I don’t think I’ll ever understand why hunger strikes work. Just one of life’s mysteries, I guess.

Obviously the man is mentally ill. I am disturbed that the posters here are as callous as they are here. Despite the fact that he did terrible things, he is a human being & should never be treated as less.

funny

how he is so bent on controlling his appetite now and that is what got him in there in the first place!

Randy Tayler

Do we know WHY he's hunger-striking? It he trying to say something, or just trying to commit suicide?

Also: is force-feeding my children illegal? I never thought of it before now, but seems like I could get some veggies in them this way.

hunger strike.. really?

Did it occur to anyone that this man might be fasting seeing how he is a prophet of a religion that believes in fasting.

Which side of the "cruel and unusual treatment" does this fall on? Let him die, or force feed him? Let him pray, or allow him to get pressure sores? I honestly don't understand.

They are limiting his prayer

Nice. Even the terrorists at Guantanamo are allowed to pray as much as they want.

Does anybody really care if he's starving himself? If he does, let him not eat for a couple of days. It's not going to kill him if he doesn't eat. Maybe it's a religious belief, maybe he feels guilty for what he's charged with. Either way, he's not getting out of jail for a long time.

The point is that there are A LOT more things going on in this world than whether a man in jail starves himself.

CBT

Interesting how when Joseph Smith was in jail, he never did a hunger strike. He may have starved, but it was not self induced. If the man is willing to do this to himself, it falls on his own head.

Prisoner

Even in prison, Jeffs still has choices he can make - whether to eat and drink, or not. Why force him to do something that he still has control over? He should be able to do as he pleases in regards to eating and praying. Clearly his soul is wrought with torment. Food and drink are offered. It's up to him if he eats and drinks.

Harold

Warren Jeffs is a nut case. The world would be a better place if the authorities would allow him to starve himself to death. There are better uses of taxpayer money than keeping Jeffs alive.

Snake pit

I agree let the perverted old fool starve to death if that is what he wants to do. He has his choice like every other evil thing that he has done during his swine like existence.

Jordan T.

Don't tell me they're forcing him to eat stale balogney sandwiches and Chef Boyardee Ravioli.

Fasting or Starvation?

Is he with it enough to know the difference? If he is responsive and can communicate normally then let him choose.

I hope he gets the help he needs and is punished for his crimes.

ssk

he is a flake and deserves everything coming to him. Freak.
Freaky followers too. Mid-edvil times they are not. I wonder if it were your daughter, raped, would you be so forgiving.........???

I heard that Warren Jeffs has been eating "Happy Meals" from a local fast food dive?

David

We have a great doctor who lives in our stake who treats people for parasites. I wonder if Warren Jeffs is up to it? However, Jeffs is a parasite, so perhaps that might not work.

What Warren Jeffs did is terrible, but isn't death a greater sin? I am not talking about his bringing on his death, but wishing that he was dead. I am not perfect with my thoughts sometimes about some public people, and I feel bad when I have those thoughts, but dang, I am not going to write them out. Some posts here are pretty shameful, and reading them makes me forget about what Jeff's did and what awful things people can say.
