The Truth

This is all fine for registering new young voters. But the downfall is that this group (18-29) rarely look st the candidates objectively. They vote on peer pressure, how the white liberal media portrays a certain party (Democrats) and how movie and rock stars tell them who to vote for. These young idealistic voters most likely have never had a "real" job, nor do they own property or even pay for their existence. When things get tough, they move back home. They pay little of no taxes, are virtually untouched by the economy and have no really idea how taxation and increased government control affects them. That's why we have the racist Odumbo as president today.

To Truth

I doubt expanding student voting on UVU @ BYU campuses would lead to the massive uptick in Democratic votes you seem to fear.

Also to Truth

"They vote on peer pressure"? Do you really think that older adults all vote after weighing issues, educating themselves, and making an informed personal decision? Please. Maybe some of them vote the way movie and rock stars tell them to, but a lot of people also vote the way their religious leaders tell them and in my opinion, that is just as mindless. Most people are pretty irresponsible voters. I would students are the least so.

To Truth

Not affected by the economy eh? Tell that to every college student around the country, including UT, that just saw tuition skyrocket due to massive budget cuts.

Your name calling at the end and your belittling throughout speaks more about your own prejudice, paranoia, and peer pressure than anyone in the 18-29 age group.

Even more so as it likely comes from a UT conservative, many of which don't consider candidates at all but simply push the button for the big R! Your hypocritical accusations astound me.

Algonquin Lumpus

Most students at BYU are out of state students and have no need to change their voter registration to become Utah residents. This is probably why in 2008 UVU had an early voting location and BYU did not.
