Turn the money down!
That's socialism!
LOL!
Anonymous | 5:50 p.m Utahans get $1.23 for each dollar they pay in federal taxes. They got a record hand out for their Winter Games and they hate big government.
I no longer live in Utah. I wouldn't mind carrying Utah so much, if Utahans, would get their spurs out of my back!
After reading this article, I'm left pondering who's really leading Utah right now. Our soon-to-be-gone Gov. Huntsman, is of to China; the soon-to-be-Gov. Gary Herbert is lost searching for anyone who can spell "Republican" to be his Lt. Governor; all while Ralph Becker is meeting with the President of the United States, advising him on ways to save and create more jobs, and bringing home the dollars to prove it. Sounds like the real man in charge is Mr. Becker! How long until we can put really put him in the Governor's Office... sounds like not soon enough!! Guess 2010 will have to do...
I can understand that it is expensive to hire an officer but doing the quick math it appears that it costs each of the cities from a little less than $200,000 to almost $300,000. Let see now. Depending where you go for a police job starting out you can make about $35,000ish. Ok, just doing a quick math again, that means that it takes about $165,000 to $265,000 per year. Lets see uniforms, belts, guns, car, an office desk, donut maker and the other frills add up to that amount? Huh, someone please help me. I either need to sharpen my pencil or purchase some new batteries in my calculator. Pay me the $165,000 to $265,000 and I will bring my own stuff for the entire year. I promise!
Should be an immigration cross training for 8 officers in immigration. Lawbreaking has increased under their watchful eye.
