I'd rather die than have a mormon chaplain. They would just tell you you were going to hell anyway.

Congratulations to the Mormon ladies who are graduating as chaplains.

These and other qualified women should be able to be ordained to minister in LDS churches, wards, the general authority, and presidency.

@ ANONYMOUS:

You are confusing Mormons with Baptists, et al.

Mormons will tell you that the Gospel of Jesus Christ follows the biblical teaching that shows without equivocation that those who die without knowing Jesus Christ will have the opportunity extended to them after death.

Please do try and keep the theologies of different denominations within Christianity accurate and up-to-date. That will help you to know who it is that will say you are going to Hell, and who will not say that you are going to Hell.

Here's a clue: The Mormons do not assign people to Hell, nor to burn in Hell, nor do Mormons tell people such as yourself that they will burn in Hell forever.

Check out for yourself at first-hand what Mormons actually DO believe before rushing to judgement about what you think they either do or might believe and teach.

Military Chaplains | 9:18 a.m. July 28, 2009
The dedication of Militay Chaplains has always amazed me,when I was in Vietnam our Chaplain was Roman Catholic,(The Padre on Patrol), in 1967 3 Roman Catholic Chaplains received the Congressional medal of honor. One of the only few good memories, I have from being in the jungle was that the Padre was in the area, and I am Lutheran.

BOM "And now I say unto you, that mercy hath no claim on that man;therefore his final doom is to endure a never-ending torment." (Mosiah 3:25)
"And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."(Matthew 10:28)
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is: Jesus died on the cross and rose again, because if he did not, there is no Gospel(evangellical)good news.
RE : Ronnie Bray  | 10:28 a.m. July 28, 2009
Do you read the BOM?(2Nephi 28:22)"And behold, others he flattereth away, and telleth them there is no hell; and he saith unto them: I am no devil, for there is none and thus he whispereth in their ears, until he he grasps them with his awful chains, from whence there is no deliverance."
Do you read the Bible?"And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."(Rev 20:15)

The 12:26 commentator does not understand the Church. The Church has female teachers, the division of roles of males and females is complexed and cannot be understood if you think Chaplains are anything like normal Mormon leaders.

When I was in the Military The Chaplains were either Jewish or Christian(Protestant,Catholic)now they have Muslim and Mormon Chaplains, I would not want to hear about Mohammed or Joseph Smith.

To the 2:09 commentator,
The first Mormon Chaplains served in World War I.
Actually thought, chaplains never are solely by religion. Military chaplains are a bit different, but this article is about hospital and business chaplains who are employed by the business and do not function within a particular religion.
I have no problem with Muslim chaplains. Chapalains do not proselytize. They give people confort. Even though LDS military chaplains now get full training from BYU and they are clearly endorsed by the Church, they still funtion as employees of the army, and have duties to provide spiritual nourishment to all involved.

To Anon: Try again on Mosiah 3:25 ....Your quote was not acurate.
To RE | 10:40 a.m. July 29, 2009
We didn't say Hell doesn't exist, but we don't tell people they are going there.
That is the responsibility of Jesus Christ, our judge.

To John Pack Lambert,

"Chapalains do not proselytize. They give people confort."

LDS chaplains NOT PROSELYTIZE??

Yeah, right, and the Mississippi flows with beer!

Nice try at prostelyting on the comment section! Trust us, we know as much about LDS theology as we care to know.

LDS distinguish between "outer darkness" and the "telestial" kingdom. Supposedly, according to LDS scriptures, MURDERERS will go to the "telestial" kingdom. But then their scriptures say that people who "shed innocent blood" will go to outer darkness! So which is it? Is "outer darkness" hell? Or is the "telestial" kingdom hell?

Mormons play semantic games, but in the end, anyone who does not make it to the Highest kingdom in the Celestial glory is effectively "damned"... stopped in their eternal progression...

So, yes, what I said was correct: Mormons essentially tell everyone they are "going to hell"...

Mormons are the most judgmental, hypocritical people I have ever met. They mock other people's theology, but then try to claim THEIR theology is simple, clear and "true" (have you READ D&C 132?! - Give me a break! I'll take the Nicene Creed ANYDAY!)
have at it | 2:33 p.m. July 29, 2009
to Anonymous... Have at it! I will take the Book of Mormon any day. Ain't it great that we get to choose? I have had a lady chaplain at my dad's bedside when he was dying. A very nice woman who gave us comfort even though we were of different religions. She showed true compassion and I very much appreciated that. No preaching... just being kind like the savior would be. It's great that we all have the opportunity to choose... now we need to be nice about it!
