Sounds like it was an incredibly hot fire. I'm glad that all made it out ok.

I have family on that block the streets were packed with people as I was leaving a UTA bus pulled up to take everyone away at about 5pm. Thankfully no one was hurt.

Thank you fire dept. of Ogden for your courageous work you do. You are truly appreciated.
Was it arson? | 11:32 a.m. July 27, 2009
It concerns me that the landlord couldn't be located to obtain a list of residents. I would investigate this fire to ensure that there is no insurance fraud involved on the part of the landlord if I was the police and fire marshal. The quickness of the fire seems to indicate deliberate arson.

My deepest sympathy goes to those who lost their home and possessions or family pets.

I wouldn't be all that concerned that the landlord couldn't be contacted. It was over a weekend. This article was posted well before businesses opened up on Monday morning. Sure, it COULD be arson, but you're jumping to conclusions on flimsy evidence.

These were condos that were indiviually owned no landlord like an apartment building. I live in California and keep a residence there. I found out late Sunday afternoon from a call a person that I met while attending the local Ward that lived in the neighbor. I would imagine there are others that still my not know that live outside Ogden.

I loved bringing my family and friends to Ogden to see the change in this Old Town. Everything is so close from 25th Street, the Junction, the River and Kayak Parks, Bike Trails and Trail Heads on the East Bench, Snow Basin and the Lake. It is a wonderful place to spend some down time.

We have put into our unit over 50% of the purchase price in in upgrages and furnishings. We lost our unit like everyone else. Fire does not discriminate owner vs. renter we all lost. We are asking ourselves why we did not purchase additional insurrance. The HOA homeowners policy will not cover our losses.

Thank you to the Mayor, the generosity of the people of Ogden and espicially Ogden Fire Department. It makes me proud to be a part-time resident of Ogden.
