New Mexico won't ever compete nationally with the top 3 in the conference.
The Lobos will not win the league this year, they will not finish 7th in the conference. 8 starters back on offense is good, but this is their 4th offense in 4 seasons. It will take a while. As for the defense, they return 3 starters, but Coach Long played 16 to 20 guys a game on defense. So many of the players starting this year have playing expericance.
I think they will finish 4th and play in their own bowl game. Much better than last year.
I hope for improvements from every team in the league. New Mexico has always been a tough team, just never a consistant winner. It may take a couple seasons to see results. Best of luck to you, go win those OOC games.
Rocky Long did a great great job. Formerly on Bruins staff. Last year ended sourly for him, but he is the main reason that team became tough to beat, pretty good defensively, swarmed to the ball, offensively not great through the air only problem. He produced terrific college running backs.
I listened to Mike Roberts doing Lobo games since I was a child and they were one of my 5 favorite teams. I wish new man well but transition year and very hard schedule
Has 4-7 written all over it.
Will beat utah!
Wouldn't call it the "Big Three"
I would say Utah then the "Big Two"
Utah has placed itself in a category all by itself.
