I cannot understand why the state of utah or maybe even some churches can't get together and help this family bury there loved ones. These poor people have enough to worry about. This was a beautiful family and I am so sorry this happened. This story makes me cry every time I read about it. I will pray for your family.

How can we contribute money to this family?

Anonymous

I imagine the costs to bury each family member and have a realatively modest funeral at a church would cost $6-8 thousand dollars. That's over $30k that would need to be raised. That only adds to the tragedy. This family needs to be able to move on and say a proper goodbye.

Re: Patti

As the article stated "Donations can be made to the Ricardo Ramirez fund at any Zions Bank."

I don't understand why they wouldn't bury them for the family and let them come up with the money when they can, even if it is a little at a time!! There is surely a way that they can be 'put to rest' and help this family have closure for the family that is left to live without their loved ones, that is going to be hard enough without having to not be able to bury their parents and siblings!! I would send the whole amount if I had it, my husband was laid off so that isn't a possibility!! I just pray that there will be someone come forward that has the money and can help the family instead of spending their money on material things that most likely aren't needed!! My heart goes out to the two BOYS that are left!!

I believe there are many of us in the same circumstances that wish we could just fork over the money to help with this family in need. When you say "they", who is that? The fairy Godmother? Even the mortuary business is effected by this economy. Don't be quick to judge that because the money hasn't been raised overnight that it was spent on material things not needed. We must pull together with one heart and one mind without pointing fingers in order to overcome tragedies like this. Thank you all who have donated their time and money thus far.

To help out with the family donations are being sent to the Memorial Estates Mortuary - 6500 South Redwood Road under Martinez and Ramirez. The Ricardo Ramirez fund and Manuel Garcia fund should be sent to Zions Bank. Be sure to name both children. Thanks to all who God has placed in their hearts to donate. God Bless.

Mercedes was my best friend in 6th grade. I hadn't heard from her ever since then... and then yesterday was the first time in 3 years I saw her.
At her funeral.. it made me so sad, to lose such a great friend.

But my family is going to help them out in every way possible.

I give my love to the families, affected by this terrible event. Love you Mercedes. God Speed.
