The article is great to add modern architecture to the shopping list of architectural styles. Probably the biggest problem modern residential architecture faces are the ubiquous covenants and restrictions placed on most up-stale developments.
These not only prohibit modern (by regulating roof pitch; exterior materials and other restrictions, including color)which gives us acres, and sometimes square miles of boring sameness: the house with the most gables wins. It also prevents people from experiencing innovation in housing. Even modern homes that are not stark white steel and glass, but are warm and welcoming are excluded.
Can you imagine, Mr. and Mrs. Uppity visiting their eccentric neighbors and being amazed by the beauty and simplicity inside?
