What a contrast to those of us in the Eastern US that celebrate with a few bicycles and wagons and a very small group of primary children. The bond to the pioneers, though, is just as strong. In some ways we understand the sacrifice and isolation of the pioneers because we are small in number and have fewer members to bond with. This helps the bonds to grow stronger as we need to unify and depend on each other and our non-member friends even more. How grateful I am to have raised my family in areas where the church population is small yet strong.

My pioneer heritage goes back to Jacob Hamblin who crossed the plains with the Saints. Others here trace their pioneer heritage back to the day they or their parents and grand parents were baptized.

We honor all pioneers and express our thanks for their obedience, sacrifice, and steadfastness in following the Prophet.

Hi Diane,

A fitting tribute to our "Queen of Parades"

This is just another way you are a great example to us all.

You're the best!
